Loving care at a pup paradise
Pet care experience
I have cared for the dogs of friends and family for the past 15 years. For the past two years I have raised my own dog, my pomchi Roo. I pride myself on my practical skills (reinforcing positive behaviors, monitoring a pack, setting boundaries, reading their signs attentively, creating routines). I LOVE dogs, so it feels natural to give them the safety and belonging that they seek.
Reviews
I entrusted Jhoanna with my senior dog for a long trip out of the country. Based on how well she's taken care of him many times before, I was able to take my vacation and not worry about him being well cared for. Thank you, Jhoanna!
Jhoanna is amazing. My dogs love her (and her sweet pup, Roo) and are well cared for during their stay. I appreciate the updates and photos. I feel complete confidence having my dogs in her care. I am so grateful to have found her. Thanks, Jhoanna & Roo!
If you’re looking for a sitter in the east bay, you’ve found her! I’m very particular with my boys and have gone through so many different Rover sitter trials. Johanna was immediately warm, has great indoor and outdoor space and sends us so many photos and updates. I’ll definitely be contacting her again!
Jhoanna is such a wonderful person and dogsitter. My dog has anxiety but seemed so calm and happy in all of the pictures I received. She took him on plenty of walks! Her sweet baby dog was wonderful and so chill which was a gift in itself as well. I will definitely book with her again!

1. Only small and medium-sized dogs stay at my house. 2. Little or no crate time! All day access to my large backyard through dog door. Your dog can spend their stay playing chase and fetch out back, chilling on my shaded deck, or lounging in my living room. Yard is double gated (like at dog parks) for safe transitions. 3. One or two walks per day, depending on your dog's needs. 4. A hike or visit to a dog park every other day (depending on your dog's temperament and level of activity). 5. I'll feed your pup as close to their normal routine as possible. Please bring their food, special treats, and any medications/vitamins that they take regularly. 6. The comforts of home (dogs allowed on couch, on beds, unless you prefer that I reinforce other rules for your dog). 7. Doggy seat-belts in my Subaru, if we drive to a trailhead or dog park. 8. Dog-centered and dog-safe home and yard. No raisins; chocolate, avocado, etc. out of reach. No foxtails, no lilies, no cacti. 9. Photo and text updates to parents. 10. I'd be happy schedule a brief visit or video call prior to your dog's stay, or send a video tour of my space.

Information Jhoanna I. would like to know about your pet
1. What is their daily routine? 2. How would you describe your dog's temperament/ personality? 3. Are there any specific behaviors I should be aware of (ex: resource guarding, leash reactivity, pulling on walks, separation anxiety, herding behaviors, etc.)? 4. If they require medication, what is the procedure for administering it? 5. Are they up-to-date on their vaccinations and flea/tick medication? (Required for the safety of my family and other clients).
A typical day
We'll play in my large, sunny backyard and relax in the shade of the patio. We'll take walks in my neighborhood. Every other day, I will bring Roo and friends on a trail hike in regional parks (Knowland, Chabot, Redwood Regional), or to gated dog parks (Alameda, Berkeley).
