This is our second time having Jewel take care of our American Bulldog. During our day trip to Austin, she came by the house 3 times, sent photos and provided updates. We came home to a happy, well cared for dog, thus our second recommendation.

Jewel was great! She was always on time and dealt with issues that came up with ease such as the alarm going off and the police showing up because the alarm company called the wrong number. She’s easy going which I like because many pet sitters can be overbearing and know it alls...my pets are like my kids and you don’t tell other people how to raise their kids so why do it with their pets??? Jewel is also thoughtful and wasn’t high maintenance. For instance, I asked for the dogs to be outside and could she rinse their water bowl out so it’s clean outside?...she had already done it before I asked. Things like this were important because I didn’t feel I had to manage her. I could relax and enjoy my trip with one less thing to worry about my pets and home. Jewel is kind and thoughtful too. When you are under stress, you don’t keep a confrontational or strong spoken voice coming at you and I have had that with pet sitters who were being Type A with me and not aware of their tone...I’m type A so I don’t need someone being that way with me...clash! Two chiefs are not good and I’m paying to be chief, right? My babies my way! Jewel was never that way at all! I know pet sitters may be trying to be professional but you are like a babysitter...so sweet and nurturing is key...Jewel is perfect in the sweet and nurturing department even though she’s a take charge gal that I wanted also. These were important things to be when I interviewed and I turned down MANY who cane on too strong or were scattered or disorganized. I thought I’d share why. I highly recommend Jewel!!! She’s dependable, nurturing, easy to work with, adaptable, and professional.
