I have had several different breeds of dogs throughout my life with various sitting/walking jobs for the past 8 or so years. I have formal education in animal training and enrichment and extensive experience with animal behavior. I am a pet sitter because I understand the importance of providing the proper care for our pets when we are away or otherwise unable to do so ourselves. I enjoy walking, jogging, playing fetch, visiting the dog park, and taking trips to pet stores with my dogs and I believe it makes for great socialization exercises with any dog. My resident dog, Ringo, is a 6-year-old Australian shepherd/blue heeler mix that I rescued 2 years ago. He has taught me more about dog behavior and training than any class could have! Through our time together, Ringo has learned lots of tricks, and has learned to enjoy the company of other dogs. My newest addition is Zelda, a 1-year-old blue heeler, who absolutely loves people and other dogs. She helped me become accustomed to how puppy behavior is different from adult dog behavior. Currently I work part time, allowing me to have lots of time at home to spend caring for my pets. I would spend 90-100% of my time directly with the visitor pet, as I currently only allow pet sitting on days when I do not work.
