I've never lived in a house without a dog. One of my dogs is on medicine twice a day and has been for years. She is also considered a special needs dog because of her physical and mental disabilities. I also foster dogs and work with troubled dogs in the Humane Society. I have a Petsmart card because I'm a regular customer. My animals are my children. I have care for big dogs, however, I am a small person and won't feel comfortable walking them unless they are very tame.
