Instead of collecting it from the sitter, they now collect it from the client, which changed the amount they collect from sitters like me, from 15% to 25%. If you see that the price has gone up, this is why, and I sincerely apologize. About me: Hello! My name is Jessica and I am a card-carrying animal lover. After graduating college, I worked at a non-profit helping adults with developmental disabilities until I had my first child and decided to be a stay-at-home-mom. While at home with my kids, I still wanted to contribute toward the family income, and was fortunate enough to be able to take care of people's pets, providing in-home as well as traveling pet-sitting services on my own schedule. Some of my previous clients included dogs, cats, fish, birds, reptiles and even a pig! More recently, I was able to care for two rats! Whatever the type of animal, providing a loving, safe and fun atmosphere for pets while their parents are away, is one way that I am able to continue to be a stay-at-home-mom to my four kids, while also getting to play with cute animals. I love my job and I love the satisfaction of knowing that I am providing the best care possible for the pups I sit. Activities: Not only do we spend lots of time playing outside in our yard, but we also go on one or two walks a day from 1-4 miles depending on breed, age, etc., because a happy dog is a tired dog! Our home: In addition to play and exercise, we strive to create an atmosphere at our home that best simulates the dog's home environment in order to lessen any stress they may encounter. Our goal is to make their experience as positive as possible, so they will beg to come back! We live in an 1,800 square foot home on a 7,000 square foot lot with a fenced off swimming pool and a doggy area for outside play. Our home is suited to dogs who are used to children, as I have a billion of them, but we do have pet gates and rooms that are off limits to kids if we have any guests who need a break from them. Dogs in my care are allowed on the furniture as long as that is what they are allowed to do at their own home. I try to be consistent so they don't go home having learned any bad habits! My experience: My first dog was Sunny, a Golden Lab/German Shepherd mix, who was our nanny when we were kids, keeping us safe and near the house when we played outside. After Sunny, we adopted Kay-Lee, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever who was very protective as well. As an adult, my husband and I adopted K.C. a senior Bichon Frise who gave us 6 wonderful years before passing away at 14. Since then, we have enjoyed spending time with our friends and family's pups, and now we have a two fluffy pup's of our own, Journey and Indianna. In addition to dogs, we have had cats, fish, turtles, crabs, rabbits, birds, and lizards. I am also comfortable administering medication if necessary.
