Having grown up on a small family farm, I have spent most of my life surrounded by and caring for animals. This love for animals blossomed at an early age and has stayed with me into my adult life. My middle school summers were spent volunteering at the Humane Society, where I learned to care for even the shyest animal. During high school, every volunteer opportunity was spent also at the Humane Society. I even did my science fair project on bacteria colonies in pets' mouths. As an adult I have made animals my career, handling a working security K9 and operating a small training business.
