Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Jessica and I have been caring for animals for the past 15+ years. While attending the University of Illinois, I participated in a variety of programs working with companion animals, livestock, and exotics before completing a degree in Animal Sciences. These programs would range from breeding horses and cattle, to training dogs and marine mammals, to advanced healthcare, and more. Upon graduating, I spent the next 5 years working as a veterinary technician where I gained extensive training in detecting illnesses, proper nutrition, tending to injuries, administering medication, performing exams and diagnostics, preventative medicine, dental procedures, and surgical procedures. I currently work seasonally upon a research vessel studying Humpback Whales and as a land restoration specialist for a local non-profit. I can provide basic grooming, positive reinforcement, enrichment activities, obedience training, general care, and much more. I truly enjoy dedicating my time to providing the utmost care and love to the animals and people in our lives. Whatever your pet needs I'd be happy to accommodate. I am comfortable caring for pets with special needs, medication requirements, aggression issues, separation anxiety, and of every shape and size. Jessica is awesome. With all the pictures she sent it looked like Finley was extremely happy. She stayed at my house and kept everything just like we left it. Even looked like she cleaned up a bit. She is very professional and I felt comfortable her looking over my loved one.
It's easy to see that Jessica wholeheartedly loves animals of all kinds. She has a degree in Animal Science and much experience working in veterinary services, and while this doesn't necessarily apply to walking your dogs, it's nice to know she has a deep understanding of animal health and behavior. I've met her personal animals and they are very intelligent and well behaved and she is able to easily maintain control over them, even the Mastiff and Doberman, so you don't have to worry about your dog getting the best of her! She is very polite and a pleasure to work with and my dogs love when they get to see her.
My two dogs love Jessica! I prefer having someone come to our house so that they are familiar with their surroundings and Jessica was very accommodating. They received tons of affection and went on hikes while we were gone. She even helped us with some potty issues that our younger pup was having!
Jessica was absolutely amazing! Our dog Bruno injured his hip right before we were supposed to leave on vacation so we were very worried initially but Jessica immediately put us at ease with her extensive knowledge on the very injury Bruno had. She was completely aware of the kind of care he would need, was familiar with all of Bruno's medications, and educated on the proper techniques to assist him when going in and out to potty! She regularly sent us updates and pictures and we felt very comfortable knowing Bruno was under such good care. When we returned Bruno was in great spirits and we were very happy with the experience. Our trip would have been so much more stressful without her! Thank you again! Highly recommend!

I have a fenced yard and crates available at my house so depending on the client’s preference I can accommodate any need. I work part time so half the week I am available all day to monitor and accompany the pet. I have a dog and cat that are very friendly and can keep others company or I can separate them if the client’s pet(s) does better on their own. As for services offered at the client’s home I can accommodate whatever their needs may be.

Availability
Pet care is something I address daily. Not only do I provide the basics of food, shelter, and potty breaks but I enjoy making the time to provide enrichment opportunities for my pets and my client’s pets. I have a large property that is fenced and they will receive plenty of exercise and play time. I also like to incorporate regular training for my own pets and can provide training for my clients at their request.
