Pet care experience
I have been a cat owner for 6+ years, and always have been an animal lover. One of my first words as a child was “doggy” I currently have 2 cats, and while I have never owned a dog, I always had friends and family with dogs themselves that I was around and helped care for. I live in New Westminster, and am experienced in administering oral, transdermal and subcutaneous medication for small animals (dogs and cats of all ages). With my veterinary clinic experience, I am trained in recognizing what proper care for your pet includes, as well as having the knowledge of recognizing basic animal behavior. I have worked 2. 5 years in a local veterinary clinic, starting as a kennel attendant doing basic animal husbandry, caring for the animals as well as the boarders in the cat hotel. I have a desire to learn, and was trained up to be a ward nurse, learning more about animal medicine and terminology, eventually becoming the lead client care specialist, educating and assisting pet owners in providing the best possible care for their furry family members. I am experienced in caring for cats and dogs of all ages and of various health/dietary needs, including diabetes, food allergies and kidney disease. My priority is the health and well-being of your pet, I will treat and love them like my own, and keep you updated as much as you would like.

Jessica was a great kittysitter for my little cat. She checked in with me regularly and sent photos and updates to reassure me that Sammi was doing really well. She also gave her lots of outdoor time on her harness/leash which is Sammi’s favourite thing! It made me really relax and enjoy my time away. Thanks Jessica!
Jessica is a wonderful caregiver to all of my furry family! I’ve got 2 dogs (1 senior and 1 teenager) as well as a cat for reference. Right of the bat she is very accommodating , bright and respectful. She provides updates along with photos which I greatly appreciated so I could ease my mind about my furry troop being without me. She has a very warm and gentle personality and all my pets LOVE her! To make matters better, she also has experience in working at a vet assistant so pets needing medication would be easily taken care of, as long as you run it by her! She is genuine and easy to get along with and I am stress free on my trips when I know she’s around to look after my babies. When I come home from my work trips, my pets are always happy, relaxed and well fed. She is also quite affordable in her rates as well. I would wholeheartedly recommend Jessica.
I have known and had work with Jessica for 5 years in the Animal field. She is a very hardworking, trustworthy,knowledgeable and caring person. Her love for animals is beautiful. She would treat peoples pets as they were her own. She has a very soft heart for the older ones especially ❤️
Jess is an amazing cat sitter! Our cat, Tom, doesn't warm up easily to people but is a huge fan of Jess. He snuggles right up to her (that is a big deal for him). Tom has a very specific diet due to some health complications and she is more than able to handle it, and she even brought him a new version of his favourite toy that he broke :). She gives Tom all the attention he needs and deserves and you can really tell how much she cares about animals. Her experience working at a vet's office makes us even more comfortable leaving Tom with her. I totally trust Jess with my sweet boy! <3

Please let me know the comfort level/boundaries your cat/dog has with strangers. I am more than willing to leave “scaredy-cats” as much space as they need, and I understand that some cats have not as much tolerance for pats and scratches for prolonged periods of time. I would like to know how you would describe your dog's personality and energy level? I would always agree to do a meet and greet prior to the first scheduled visit/walk. Secondly I would like to know if they are fixed, up to date on vaccinations and if they are on a flea/parasite prevention program. I would like to know what basic commands your dog knows, how you discipline them, and if they are reactive to any thing in particular (other people, dogs, people wearing backpacks or hoodies, cars, etc Has your dog ever bitten anyone or posed any threat to another person or animal? I do not have breed preferences, I am accepting of all breeds, but I am best suited for lower to moderate energy dogs. (corgis have a history of making me so happy I could cry)
A typical day
I can play with your kitties with their favorite toys provided. If your kitty isn’t super fond of strangers, I’ll let them have their space and “ignore” them while I do dishes/litter box tasks, and I can sit quietly to read while I complete the remainder of the visit. I can respect kitty’s boundaries and only interact to the extent they’re comfortable with. I will take your dog on leashed walks in the local neighborhood, or parks. We can go as slow or as fast as they’d like, and if needed, we can stay away from busy roads, parks and areas. I do not always agree with off leash dog park areas, so this may not be a service I am always comfortable to provide. I would most likely avoid off leash areas.
