Pet care experience
I spent 14 years with the best dog I'll ever have, and since saying goodbye to him I've fostered many pups for varying amounts of time for a local rescue as well as welcoming friends pups into our home on a regular basis. We have all the accessories to make your friend's stay comfortable: a large bed, toys, treats, extra leashes and food and water bowls. I have experience with senior dog care including medication administration, special diets, and mobility assistance.

I live in an apartment but have tons of greenspace right outside the front door along with a fenced in park less than five minutes walk away, so there is no shortage of outside time. Depending on the needs of your pup, he/she would get a minimum of three 30 minute walks per day, or more or less activity based on age and desire. There are also tons of dogs in our neighborhood to play with although we don't have any pets or kids currently in our home.

We live in a neighborhood with a lot of dogs, so it's important that your pup is friendly and generally well behaved. I can guarantee your pup will get all the exercise and attention needed, but I do request that dogs be able to be alone for 1-2 hours if spending more than four hours with me. We are happy to welcome a senior dog who may need more care into our home.
A typical day
If your pup likes to be active and is good off leash, we can go cross country skiing at three locations near Aspen or on a hike nearby. And if your friend prefers belly rubs and cuddle time, we can do that too! We live a few minutes walk from the Rio Grande trail, Smuggler Trail and Hunter Creek Trail and there are several big dog parks nearby, including one that is completely fenced.

Availability
I generally have a very flexible schedule while I am not traveling so I have tons of time to spend with your pet. After your pup arrives, we will spend time getting acquainted and go for a walk around the neighborhood, then we will do at least one more walk before afternoon pick up (in the case of daycare).
