Dog loving mom

Pet care experience

I've had dogs all of my life, ranging from smaller dogs (Lhasa Apso) to golden retrievers. I'm a runner, so I'm happy to offer lots of exercise for more active dogs, but also enjoy play/cuddle time with more senior, or less active dogs like Newfoundlands. I currently have a one year old Husky, Luna. : )

We left our dog Bruce in Jess’s care for about 2 weeks while we were away for our wedding. We were nervous about leaving him for an extended period for the first time, but he couldn’t have been in better hands! Even before our stay, Jess helped coordinate a meet and greet with her husky pup Luna to make sure our dogs got along (they did!). Then throughout his stay, she sent us daily updates with photos and was readily available to video chat at any time. Seeing Bruce playing with Luna, going on frequent walks, and enjoying trips to the dog park truly put our minds at ease. We knew that he was still getting all the love and attention he deserved in our absence! Jess even supplied her own dog food when our food unexpectedly ran out towards the end of his stay. Jess is thoughtful, attentive, responsive, and will care for your dog like it’s her own. We are so lucky to have found her and would highly recommend to all!

Jessica and her family were great with Coco, she sent pictures and videos every day and was very active with Coco... I am very pleased.

Jessica loves dogs! It is such a relief to have someone I can call to help who truly cares. Jess is always super responsive as well.

Safety, trust & environment

Our yard is not fenced, so I do take the dogs out frequently. We have a fairly large, wooded yard at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac that's perfect for walking pets. I take my dogs to a nearby YMCA camp land/trails, within walking distance, when owners feel comfortable with longer, external outings. My kids are aged 7-14 and they all love dogs. My dog also gets along with all breeds. We usually visit our local dog park daily, and we love after dinner walks in the neighborhood. We consider our Luna to be our '5th baby," and our home is a very relaxed environment...dogs are welcome on couches and beds, and there's never any shortage of toys or playmates.

A typical day

I love bringing dogs to the Southington and Cheshire dog parks, and since I live close to YMCA's Camp Sloper, I usually take active and/or younger dogs on the trails (and for a little dip, if they like water and that's okay with you!). I offer 40 minute runs, as well, if your talk is up for it (I trail run daily). For older, less active dogs, I take them around my neighborhood... we live on a cul-de-sac, so not a lot of cars, and lots of peacefulness.
