Full Time Professional Pet Sitter

Pet care experience

Hello and welcome to my page! I am really excited to be on Rover and hopefully to help you out with your little Fuzz-butts. I am a professional pet sitter and long time animal lover. I have my own pack of 4 pups at home and volunteer with various rescue organizations. My own pets are the world to me. I understand that your pets are your family too and with that, they deserve the absolute best care while you are away. And you deserve the peace of mind in knowing that they are in good hands while you are away. I can do that for you, I’m here to help! I will take care of your pets with the same dedication and attention to detail as I do my own. I am happy to walk them, play, clean up after them and administer medications, and I can even transport them to various appointments should you need. I also will send you a rover report card for each visit so you can see when they ate, pottied, etc and its probably going to include a ton of photos of your pet too! I am really flexible and quite dedicated to the care of the animals I am responsible for. Just let me know what experience you would like and I'm sure we can come up with a plan that suits you and your pet’s needs. I’m also really great with animals that might have special challenges like those that lack confidence or socialization skills (like many rescue dogs may face). Getting a pet sitter can be stressful when your pet is not great with new people or situations. But I can help! I’m very patient and understand the building blocks it takes to earn a dogs trust while respecting their boundaries. I find these cases the most rewarding. *Background* -I have been pet sitting professionally since 2015. - I also have done a bit of rescue work, fostering homeless or abandoned pups. Many of these dogs have come directly from the shelter and were pulled because they were at high risk of euthanasia and were ill or fearful. I have really enjoyed taking in these dogs and working hard to rehabilitate them and get to know what kind of home will be best suited for each. With Russell Rescue Inc, I have also successfully fostered, rehabilitated and adopted out 2 great dogs, along with caring for many other short term fosters pups and rescue transports. -When I was a younger, I worked at a veterinary clinic and pet salon. *It runs in the family: Growing up, we always had many pets (of all types). My family back in NJ was always known for taking in other peoples unwanted pets and helping injured wildlife. My brother is currently an animal control officer and has his own pet sitting business in NJ which my mom also works for.

Safety, trust & environment

The safety of your pets is very important to me. During our meet and greet, I’ll ask a lot of questions about daily care routine as well as any quirks, behaviors or conditions that I need to be aware of to ensure the safest care possible while you are away.

Information Jessica H. would like to know about your pet

I love to set up a meet & greet prior to the first pet sitting with new clients. This is where I'll ask all the important questions about your pets needs and care instructions. These will vary depending on the service. But here are some things that I find helpful to prepare for your pet sitting. -Having a paper copy of care instructions in the home is great. I have an easy but comprehensive form you can fill out if needed. -Have a good emergency plan in advance. Emergencies almost never happen, but on that rare chance we want to be swift and decisive should the unforeseen occur. If you are going to be hard to reach, it helps to alert your vet that you have a sitter so you can pre-authorize them in case of an emergency. Its also great to have transport items easily accessible should they need a vet visit, leashes / harness / crate / cat carrier, etc.

A typical day

Ideally my typical day with your pet with replicate your typical day with them. Keeping their routine as normal as possible will prevent unnecessary stressors and make for a seamless pet sitting.
