Pet care experience
I currently live on a 2nd floor 2 bedroom apartment in Delmar with my boyfriend. We currently have no pets of our own. My family raised me with dogs (Boxers and Labradors) but once I moved out I never got a dog of my own. I started dog sitting in California when I started working remotely in 2018, then in Alaska, and now I’m here in upstate New York. I’m currently unable to take high energy dogs because of limited indoor and outdoor space but am open to boarding high energy dogs if well trained. I also only take one dog or cat at a time because of this. I have experience with administering meds (orally, by injection, and ophthalmic). DOG BOARDING/DOGGY DAYCARE: Only open to taking in 100% potty trained dogs. My home currently has no kids, no cats, and no dogs of my own. Dog(s) have free roam of the apartment but are not allowed on furniture or my bed. I work remotely from home so am able to keep the dog(s) company during the day and usually have their bed/blanket out in the living room around me and then move their bed/blanket over to my bedroom floor at night for bed. Sometimes I may go for a 30 minutes-2 hours walk/run/hike and don't mind bringing the dog(s) along if they like to walk/run. I ask that all dogs are up to date with vaccinations and will ask for proof of vaccinations. I am an advocate for every single dog under my care as if they are my own dog. I bring dog(s) out to potty first thing in the morning, before bed, before I step out of the house, when I get back home, whenever a dog starts sniffing the floor, after they have a meal, and in 1-2 hour intervals if I'm home. I understand accidents happen but if a dog still marks or has an accident indoors even after bringing him/her out to potty 6-12 times a day, he/she probably isn't 100% potty trained and I'll have to charge a one time $50 cleaning fee if there's more than 2 accidents inside. Since I have apartment neighbors I cannot take dogs that need someone around 24/7 since I do have to leave sometimes and wouldn’t want a dog’s whining or barking to be a disturbance. For medium and big sized dogs, I take preference for crate trained dogs for their own safety when I’m not around. For example, I’ve had a dog get into the trash when I left for 30 minutes just for her to throw up everything that she got into as soon as I got home. I also will not take a dog that an owner says has to be “leashed to a heavy piece of furniture” for bed at night. PLEASE NO AGGRESSIVE DOGS: I in no way want to be responsible for dogs that growl, snarl, and bare their teeth at anyone (including me) that's not their owners even if it's a small dog. ABOUT ME: I am from Los Angeles, I grew up with boxers until the last boxer died a few years ago. I care about animals and have volunteered at an animal shelter and the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, CA. For my first half of university I was on track as an undergraduate for Animal Science before I changed my degree curriculum and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. I then started work in a microbiology lab but that was not a good fit for me so I changed industries and job titles and have been working 100% remotely as a Pricing Analyst for a logistics company. I grew up in Southern California, lived in NYC for a bit, lived in Alaska for a bit, and now live in the Capital District. When I’m not dog sitting I like to travel and have been to Greece, United Arab Emirates, Norway, South Africa, and Sweden.
Reviews
Jessica made boarding an easy process. She sent update photo’s multiple times per day and kept in contact throughout the stay. Thanks Jessica.
Jessica helped us out super last minute with our dog. She was great at communicating and sent tons of pictures to let us know our pup was okay. We are so thankful for her!
Jess was very nice and regularly sent us photos and updates of our dog. She took very good care of him and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for boarding or other services.
Jessica G. cancelled a booking within a day of the start date.

Information Jessica G. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know - is he/she is potty trained and what is his/her indication to potty or what is his/her potty schedule like - his/her reactiveness toward different stimuli (new people, new dogs whether smaller or bigger than them, the vaccuum, etc.) - if they would adjust just fine to not being able to go up onto furniture in my home - if they have any current physical or health conditions like seizures, allergies, a non harmful limp, etc. - is he/she up to date with shots/vaccinations - is there anything you're working on training with him/her that you'd want me to continue while under my care - activity levels - fixed or intact
A typical day
I go on walks/runs on weekdays and hikes on some weekends so I can bring your dog with me if the dog is healthy, active, and good on leash.

Availability
I work remotely from home Monday-Friday as a Pricing Analyst for DHL. If I'm not home, it's only for a few hours at a time. I like to go for runs outside so if the dog likes to run and is good on leash, I can run him 3-4 miles everyday if weather permits me to do so.
