Growing up I always had dogs, and cats even a horse at one point. I seemed to end up with caring for all my friends pets that they couldn’t handle. I guess that’s why as I got older I started helping my mom with dog rescues. She is a foster parent for the rebuilding stage of the rescue process. When she gets a new dog that doesn’t seem to be adjusting right away she calls me to come visit. I go over and within the hour the dog starts to settle into their new environment. I have a natural ability to understand what they need. I always start with finding out about the dog. Some have been displaced due to animal hoarding, natural disasters, and even abuse. So it’s imperative to understand what triggers they have in order to create a warm loving environment for these dogs to be able to trust again. Trust is what makes all of us tick. I’m an outdoorsy person so playing fetch, and going on a walk has been my life style as long as I can remember.
