Pet care experience
Growing up, dogs have always been a part of my family. Currently, my family includes a 90 lb Golden Retriever named Jackson who lives with my parents. I began pet sitting in high school around my neighborhood and later continued during college and graduate school all around the Pittsburgh area. I have experience caring for puppies, senior dogs, and everything in between and am comfortable with dogs of every size and breed. I do have experience giving oral medications and dealing with special diets/digestive problems. Currently, I pet sit for several families around the Pittsburgh area including a Golden Doodle, two beagles, a boxer mix, a lab, and a handful of cats. As I am not currently able to have pets in my apartment, I love getting the chance to spend time with different animals and enjoy all the snuggle and exercise time. I do have a full time job that I work Monday-Friday. My shifts are 7.5 hours long so if your dog cannot be left alone for that length of a work day I am not the right choice for a week day sitter (although I would love to spend time with them on the weekends!)

I have known Jessica for many years as a friend, but also as a wonderful caretaker for my dog Savannah. Jessica is very responsible, dependable, caring, and she loves animals. While planning a vacation (I had to think about who would take care of my dog, the way I would). My dog is inclined to have a little separation anxiety when I leave the house. Without hesitation, I asked Jessica if she was willing to watch my dog. Jessica has a becalming presence that puts any dog at ease! When I went away on vacation, Jessica took care of my dog in my house (this helped reduce my dog's anxiousness regarding being in a familiar environment). She would play with Savannah (the tennis ball is her favorite), take her on walks (around the neighborhood), feed her (in addition to giving her daily medication twice a day), and also caring for her. What really mattered to me was that someone was taking care of my dog the way I would. I could also text Jessica just to see how things were going. When I arrived home from vacation, Jessica had some interesting stories about my dog Savannah. Jessica experienced my dog howling when she was not able to see Jessica. Sometimes my dog would also open the doors with her nose (Jessica; I'm so sorry about that). It's never easy finding a person who is trustworthy and caring as well. Jessica is a rare gem which I've highly recommended to my friends and family. Without any reservations, I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for pet care.
I have known Jessica for over 20 years and highly recommend her for this position. She is a very capable, responsible, extremely bright young woman whose experience and maturity make her a very desirable dog caregiver. Most importantly is her love of animals since a very young age and her ability to comfort and love them as if they were her own. She has worked for me in caring for my cocker spaniel. She stayed in my home and handled all caregiving responsibilities. I I trust her judgement and know she is capable of dealing with any situation that may arise. I can't say enough positive comments about her and am sure you will agree once you meet her.
We loved working with Jessie! She stayed with our three dogs in our home for 5 days and took care of everything. We appreciated her daily updates and photos, and we valued her obvious interest in the well-being of our pets. Thank you, Jessie!
We have known Jessica since we moved in across the street from her when she was about 13 or 14. She is a lovely, intelligent, compassionate and loving person. She is extremely trustworthy. I trusted her so much, that she was our babysitter (and the best we ever had) for our 2 children, as they were growing up. It only made sense that when we needed someone to take care of our beloved family Goldendoodle, Daisy, that we also entrusted Jessie with that task. For several years, Jessie moved into our house and "lived" with our "3rd child" (and our betta fish) while we were on vacation for 10 days. Knowing Jessie was at home and keeping Daisy company was the only reason we were able to go on vacation. Daisy loved Jessie. (Daisy crossed the Rainbow Bridge last June, I am heartbroken to stay.) We would highly recommend Jessie Ferraro as a dog caregiver. She is sweet, kind, super intelligent and loves animals!!! She's a wonderful egg! We love her like she is family!

A typical day
I love taking walks around each dog's neighborhood and also enjoy going to local parks to take in different scenery (and for the dog, different smells). Cuddle time is a must! Nothing is better than snuggling up with a dog or two and just relaxing together. I am also very a very experienced fetch player as I grew up with multiple retrievers!
