Hi! I'm Jessica. A little about me.. Work experience: I've been employed at a non-profit animal clinic for just over a decade as the Lead Medical Coordinator. My role is to monitor & provide medical care for all the pups and kitties at our clinic as well as lead our medical care team. I also care for our resident dogs in the evenings (feeding, potty- breaks, love & enrichment). In addition to working in the veterinary field I have been pet sitting on the side for over 12 years. I even have a couple clients who have been with me since the start! I am hoping to build up more clientele so that I can pet sit more often since it's something I absolutely adore doing. Life experience: I have been obsessed with animals my entire life. Growing up, dogs were always a part of the family. To get my cat fix I would hang out with stray cats around my neighborhood and use my allowance to buy treats and food for them. My love of animals became a full-fledged passion, and I have spent my entire adult life working with cats and dogs as a caretaker, foster and advocate. Between working at the clinic, pet sitting and home- almost every hour of every day is spent caring for & loving on pups and kitties.. And I wouldn't have it any other way! Why choose me: I hope you will be able to rest easy with the knowledge that I have a great deal of experience. In addition to pet sitting and dog walking I am able to administer medications, fluids and injections if your furred family member has medical requirements. I have extensive experience with the following: Testing blood glucose, giving insulin, bottle/tube/syringe feeding and manual bladder expression for incontinent cats and dogs. I am observant and familiar with symptoms to look out for regarding a wide variety of medical conditions and care for special needs and senior animals on a daily basis. Due to the nature of my work I also have tons of experience handling (and loving on) pups and kitties of all temperaments- including pups who are dog/animal aggressive and those who are wary of new people. If your furbabe has any behavioral challenges I require at least one meet & greet prior so that we can discuss needs, any method of behavioral modification you use so they can stay on track while you're away and to work out whether or not I'll be a good fit. About my own "kids": I have 4 cats. They are all sassy seniors and spoiled rotten! I have no dogs of my own but have been known to foster on occasion.
