The best care for your pet and home
Pet care experience
I’m a huge animal lover who has taken care of dogs for most of my life. From my childhood Westie Spenser, to my current German Shepard rescue Maya, caring for my own dogs has taught me how to handle almost anything that could come up. My family got our first dog when I was 8 years old. We got Spenser as a puppy and loved him fiercely for the 13 years he was with us. Although he was technically a family dog (in a house of 7 humans), as the years passed everyone jokingly referred to him as my dog because of the strong bond we developed. After Spenser passed my family rescued Maya, a German Shepherd from Texas who had been injured in a hurricane. I was living apart from my family when Maya was first adopted, but as soon as I moved back two years ago we became extremely close. I felt very special because she usually doesn't like new people right away, but she warmed up to me immediately. Maya still suffers from her past life, beyond the physical injury to her leg which required surgery and is now very manageable for her. She doesn’t do well meeting new people and gets very anxious when there is a lot of movement or excitement around her. She also doesn’t socialize well with other dogs and needs extra care when we pass them on walks. It has been a vastly different experience caring for Maya than my first dog, but I am so grateful to have her in my life. I also have experience caring for special needs dogs, specifically dogs who suffer from canine megaesophagus. My sister recently rescued a puppy who unfortunately was born with a megaesophagus. In most ways she is like your average puppy, happy, sweet, and extremely energetic. Her condition however leads to struggles with eating and drinking. I have watched her for extended periods of time while her parents are traveling and independently dealt with those issues while taking care of her. I even built a Bailey Chair for her to eat and drink in which has greatly reduced instances of regurgitation. I understand the special care that Mega E dogs need and know how to look out for them.
Reviews
Jessica was an absolutely fantastic dog sitter!! From the multitude of photos provided to the detailed texts each day, it was easy for us to have an enjoyable vacation knowing that all was well with our dog and that she was in very responsible, caring hands. A simply wonderful experience and we look forward to having Jes sit for us again!!!!!
Jes is an amazing dog sitter! I can't recommend her highly enough. Rhubarb (my 9 month puppy) is a handful! Rhubarb has complicated medical needs and has to eat meals vertically. Jes did a great job meeting my puppy's special needs... and her regular teenager puppy needs. Jes updated us on their trips to the dog park, tug sessions, and more. My dog did not want her to leave when I came home.

I believe that while a dog’s parents are away it will be most comfortable staying in it’s own home. Your dog is already missing you and being in a familiar environment can help keep them stable and happy while you are away. I try to maintain your dog’s routine as much as possible while giving them a little extra attention so they won’t dread being left behind. I am very clean and respectful of your home and privacy and endeavor to leave your space exactly the same as how I found it.
Information Jessica C. would like to know about your pet
Beyond keeping your dog fed, watered, and walked I want to make sure they are happy. I try to stick to your dog's usual routine as much as possible while adding in fun bonuses for them. My goal is to both minimize any negatives your dog may experience while being home without you and to make the time I spend with them fun and engaging. Knowing more about your dog is essential for that. Some useful information for me is: - Any medical issues, allergies, and/or medications. - Feeding schedule & routine - Walk schedule & routine - Sleep schedule & routine - Any other daily patterns: what times of day they tend to have more or less energy, is there something that you usually do everyday that your dog reacts to, do they hate the mail carrier, etc. - Core commands they are trained with: do you use "no," "stop," "off," or a combination of all three, what other words your dog used to. - If your dog is highly motivated by food, play, or praise. - If your dog has a favorite spot to be pet or areas they don't like being touched. - Is there anything they love to do that they don't get to do often? I also like to know how often you want updates and how detailed you would like them to be. Whether you want to be told everything, only want to be contacted if an issue arises, or something in between, I am here for you and your pet and will accommodate your preferences to the best of my ability.
A typical day
I am open and able to follow any schedule your dog is used to, including feedings, walks, play time, crate time, and whatever else. I have my own car and love to the outdoors, especially in the fall and winter. Going for a long hike with your pup or bringing them to socialize at the dog park is how I'd love to spend my day.

My days are mostly open and I am able to commit a lot of time to caring for your pets. I work odd jobs on a freelance basis and my schedule is completely self-directed. If I am watching your dog that is my first priority and I have the freedom to spend any and all time necessary with them.
