For the last four years I have worked in a local positive reinforcement training facility that also specializes in doggy daycare, so I’m well versed in canine body language and can tell what dogs are trying to tell people. That is one of the best things about having your dog stay with me. Also, I always strive to give the dog the most seamless dog sitting experience as possible by keeping up with a routine set by the owners. Walkies, feeding, medications... I can do it all. I'm always asking the pertinent questions, such as times for medications, if the dog has any leash reactivity, their feeding schedules, among many other things. I like to keep the owners up to date on what their dog is doing while staying with me, so I try to send photos and little blurbs once or twice a day. If your dog stays with me in my home: I work 7am-3pm Monday-Friday, with an hour break for lunch. I utilize that break time to provide potty breaks to dogs in my care. I feel the need to include this information because I have had potential clients believe I am home all day, which is not the case. Your dog is not required to be crate trained to stay with me, although that is definitely a perk. I have access to ex-pens that I can use to create smaller (but still comfortable) areas where your dog can stay during the time I’m at work. Please keep in mind that I live near a main street, so there are noises (large and small) pretty much all day long. When I am home I can work to counter condition your dog to these sounds. :)
