Pet care experience
I’ve been dog sitting since I was around 12 years old. I love meeting new pups and learning their sweet personalities. Families I have worked for in the past appreciate how I keep them updated with daily pictures of their fur kids while they’re away on vacation, and have said that it’s given them peace of mind to know their pets are happy and well taken care of.

Jessica did a wonderful job taking care of all my pets as well as the house. She cared for a senior dog who required medicines, a young dog who requires a lot of attention and2 cats. My pups were actually looking for her today. I would definitely hire her again and recommend her to everyone.
Jessica came over to meet us and the dog and then took her on an initial walk the next day. Very prompt, communicates quickly and truly seems to love dogs. We came home to a happy pup and look forward to using her service again. Thank you!!

I like to talk with the families of the pets prior to the first day. This helps me know exactly what expectations you have. I am also able to see how you interact with your pet(s) and what makes them comfortable and/or anxious. I know how lonely pets can get when their families are at work or away on vacation, so I like to spoil them with affection and lots of play time, while making a point to never over-do treats, and stick to the diet that has been outlined by the family.

Before the first visit, I like to know how your dog(s) prefer to eat including times, allergies, etc. Sometimes when eating with other animals there can be tendencies of food aggression and I like to know about that beforehand so I can use best strategies to make sure your pup gets the food they need without any stress/anxiety. Other information includes medication and preferred play activities. You are the expert on your dog, so I want to know anything and everything that would make their time with me the closest to their normal schedule, and the most enjoyable. I have two small breed dogs who require very specific care at times, so I am understanding of pretty much anything you can throw at me. The safety and happiness of your dog is the highest priority to me!
A typical day
I love to bring energetic and stimulating activities when I visit, especially when the pups have been asleep or napping for a while. This includes outdoor activities like taking walks and playing fetch (in a fenced in area). I am a runner and if requested can take your dog on short or long runs (this can be helpful for young, large breeds who need to spend more energy). For indoor pups, I love playing with their favorite toys and just having fun. Overall, I am incredibly flexible and can adjust to your dog’s preferred activities. I just love having fun with them!

I am currently working from home as an online grad student, so my hours are flexible. This means if you have a concern it is likely that I would be able to attend to your pet right away.
