10+ Years of Exp., Professional

Pet care experience

*for more reviews from past and present customers I’ve cared for, see my photos* I have been working with dogs for 10+ years in multiple professional capacities. I spent a few years volunteering at a local shelter where I was a canine companion walker, adoption advocate, and sometimes even foster mom. When I got my rescue dog in 2012, I was inspired to start my own small local dog walking & boarding business. have been operating this business for the last 10 years, and can provide mutual references from my clients. I have experience with dogs, cats, birds and other small animals. I genuinely enjoy providing personalized care for each and every pet I care for based on their needs. I do not believe that pet care is a black and white thing, and there is a lot more that goes into it then just “being an animal lover”. I feel it is important to acknowledge what works for one dog or cat, may not work for another. Before we meet, I will have an intake sheet full of questions about your pet's needs, likes, dislikes, behaviors etc, so that I can make sure I am fully prepared to take the role of their caretaker while you're away. I am very detailed oriented, and huge on communication when it comes time for me to visit your pets. I make sure to follow your wishes for your pets and home, and I make sure I always keep you informed with pictures and texts/emails of how your babies are doing in my care. If you have a dog with some behavioral issues and/or shyness with strangers etc., I am happy to take my time with them and slowly earn their trust by making myself available for trial visits until all parties are comfortable. I am happy to accommodate any custom requests you may have for the care of your babies! I’m addition to pet care, I work at a canine water rehabilitation center where I work one on one with dogs of many different ages, breeds, and medical statuses. I am also currently in pursuit of my Canine Fitness Trainer certification because I truly believe in educating the worlds pet owners in the best ways to keep your dogs healthy and fit.

Jessica was great! She came to do nightly drop-in visits for my cat, Hiro, during a week long business trip. She was detail oriented, sent me status updates, as well as pictures. I highly recommend her, and will definitely be reaching out again for future trips!

As a Rottweiler owner my first concern is that a pet sitter is familiar with the breed. So I was very stressed when my pet sitter moved. When I found Jessica I was so relieved that she could handle my crew. Jessica contacted me during each visit which made me at ease when vacationing. I'm very happy and confident with the care she gives to my dogs.

If you are looking for someone to doggie sit for your "baby" , look no further! Jessica is wonderful. She is all that you would want in a caretaker. She is dependable, responsible and knowledgeable. We have a diabetic dog that requires insulin injections with her meals. Jessica came to the house and quickly learned how to inject the medication. She even taught use a few tricks on how to give liquid medications to a fussy dog. Our vacations have been stress free now that we know that Sadie is in the caring hands of Jessica. We receive text messages with each visit and lots of reassuring photos.

Jessica has been nothing but AMAZING since our first meeting! It is so apparent that she truly loves what she does and has a love for her pets like no other. My Tasha girl fell for her as soon as they met and they have been best buds since. Jessica makes me feel 100% comfortable leaving my dog in her care. I know she is well taken care of and that she is always loved and safe. Jessica has truly been the answer to my Puppy babysitting prayers!!!!

Safety, trust & environment

In my home - I have a 6 foot fenced in yard, where dogs can sniff and run around freely. My number one priority is your pets safety, however I strive to make sure I am providing the exact same care your pets are used to with you home so that they are under minimal stress. Crate trained dogs are preferred, so that I can ensure safety during sleeping hours, however this is open to discussion based on your dogs personalized needs. In clients home - I make sure to send detailed texts about my arrival an departure as well as pictures during the visit. During walks, if necessary I sometimes use two leashes, and connect my own tags to the leash as well just for added back up. I do not use my phone during walks, and I also make sure to double check doors and window locks before I leave for everyone’s safety. If I am unsure about something I will contact the owner before I leave.

Information Jessica A. would like to know about your pet

I take extra precautions in certain situations and always err on the side of caution. I do make sure to collect very specific information about the dog I am walking such as how they handle corrections, how they are with animals and dogs, strangers, children etc. For the most part, I do not allow interaction with others on the outdoor adventures just as a safety precaution, but I assure you your pets will NOT be bored when they are with me. I aim to keep the walk exclusive to myself and your dogs just to ensure safety for all.i would also like to know about any medial or behavioral issues, as well as your dogs feeding and potty schedule so I can try to keep them on a routine.

A typical day

During boarding stays - we start our day with breakfast and morning walks. I think it’s important to start the day with a little exercise, it helps to work out any anxiety the dog may have, and it’s also just fun :) during the day the dogs will have access to a fully fenced in secure yard where they can run, play or relax to their leisure. At bed time we usually do night potty walks, and then settle in for the night. Unless requested or approved otherwise, if there are multiple dogs in the house, I do separate everyone with gates for bedtime when I cannot have my eyes on their interactions. (This does not apply to same family dogs who are used to sleeping together) Walks/drop ins - these visits are made to cater to your dogs every needs. I am happy to feed them, potty them, play with them and/or walk them in the time we are together. The goal is to leave them happy and tired until you return. I am very big on communicating so you will receive pictures and texts for updates as I am there, and when I depart.

I am able to be flexible in all aspects of pet care in my home, as well as drop in visits and walks, no matter how "strange" the request may be, I am happy to accommodate. My goal is to make sure you dogs don’t even notice you are gone while they are with me :)
