Pet care experience
Aside from being a pet owner (dogs, cats, guinea pigs and more) and animal lover for most of my life, I don’t have much pet care experience. However, I have tons of childcare experience after working at the same daycare for over 8 years (and loving it). This is to say: I really enjoy caregiving of any kind, and I'm used to taking care of large groups of babies, toddlers, or preschoolers at once - I'm confident I can do just as good of a job caring for your pets, whatever their needs may be. I’m responsible, fun, and energetic, and I love dogs more than life itself, so I’m super excited to start finding pet sitting work/dog walking work. I’m very flexible when it comes to your expectations for care and the times I'm needed, and I'm looking forward to getting to know you and your pets!

Jess W. is my great niece. She has lived with me for twelve years. One of her requests when she came to live with me was that she could bring her dog with her. She obviously loves dogs and all animals. We have a rescue dog and two cats. She takes very good care of them, especially if I go on a trip. Jess not only feeds them, but plays with them and gives them lots of love. She is a licensed day care teacher and some of the parents still ask her to sit for their kids overnight even though they have left the nursery school. She uses the same loving approach with animals as she does with children.

At home I have a large fenced backyard, one small dog with a big personality, and two shy, sweet cats. They each have a set feeding schedule, get lots of cuddles and attention, and our dog gets plenty of exercise and playtime. He's always especially happy to run around with other dogs, but for such an excitable little guy, he's surprised us a couple of times with his intuitive care and calm when faced with older dogs who weren't feeling up to his playful roughhousing. With that said, he's always well-supervised when it comes to other pets (for safety's sake and because he generally refuses to stray too far from our sides anyway). We do give baths at home, but our dog is short-haired and hates being wet, so it's not a weekly occurrence. But I'm certainly willing to give a bath if things ever get a little messy - or feel free to just request they have one while you're away!
Information Jess W. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if there are any special needs or other important things I need to be aware of for your dog. Is there anything I should avoid to make sure they're at their most comfortable and safe (ex: strangers while on walks, leaving anything even remotely edible less than 6 feet above ground level, etc.)? I'd also love to hear a little bit about their personality, energy level, and what makes them happiest throughout the day!
A typical day
I think every dog is a little bit different from the next, so I'll always want to know beforehand what a typical day looks like for them and what they really enjoy doing, but exploring the neighborhood's sights and smells is a must. Personally, I love a good game of fetch/catch and giving loads of affection, but those aren't necessarily what every dog wants, and part of the fun of meeting new dogs is learning what they're all about.

I'm currently looking to find work and move abroad towards the end of the year, and I'm going to be freelancing for a few months in the meantime, so I've got more than enough free time and energy to take great care of your pets/babies/fur-family.
