Pet care experience
Hello! I began pet-sitting in 2009, and have continued working as a sitter and walker through undergrad and grad school. I'm a social work grad student at SIUE, and live in the CWE. I have cared for dogs ranging in size from a Maltipoo to a St Bernard, and in age from very young pups to geriatric dogs with special needs. I do have a very high-energy dog of my own (a Huskydoo named Hilda), so if I'm caring for your dog overnight, we'll make sure our dogs are a good fit for each other before booking. If you're looking for a walker, I can do solo walks with your pup, or bring mine along and walk together.

Jess is so wonderful with my Danny Boy! I have never used a dog walking service before and I was very nervous leaving my dog with someone else. I could not have been more pleased! Their dog Hilda is such a wonderful playmate and got along very well with Danny. My dog can have some difficulty walking on a leash, but after spending time with Jess and Hilda, his leash walking has improved dramatically. They were very flexible with my complicated schedule and eased any stress that I had about leaving my dog. They were also just pleasant to be around. I would trust Jess with any pet and plan to continue booking!

We've hired Jess several times to help with our dog Ba'al. As a worker, Jess is always on time, pays attention to detail and has been able to come through in a pinch when needed. It's evident that Jess loves dogs, as well. Ba'al is always excited to see Jess when he comes over and sad to see him go. He is also tuckered out after walks with Jess - which says a lot for our feisty, rambunctious pup. We also trust Jess to take care of Ba'al while we are away. All in all, we highly recommend Jess as a dog sitter, whatever your needs may be.
Jess is naturally gifted at caring for dogs. They cared for my young puppy for several months. They're incredibly responsible and an excellent communicator. They went above and beyond what I asked for; my dog absolutely loves Jess and is always excited to see them. Jess was always willing to let me know how visits with my puppy went, which was very valuable and important to me as a first-time puppy-parent. You won't be disappointed with Jess.

My dog is very much an escape artist (locking caribeaners in a crate, or reinforced plywood around an AC unit are no match for her), so I'm very cautious about escape attempts. I don't leave dogs alone with each other if they aren't famiar with each other (if I leave the house, my doggo stays in my bedroom with the door shut).

I like to know as many details as you can provide - the basics like feeding schedules, bathroom schedules, etc, but also where they like their scritches, and what kind of play they like, or if they have any weird habits or quirks.
A typical day
Generally 1-2 daily walks, several bathroom breaks and yard time (Hilda regularly goes out to pee and then just lies down for a snooze in the sun, and honestly who am I to stop her?).

Availability
I'm on campus Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-9pm, but otherwise generally home. For my research assistantship, I generally work from home, so I'm here most of the time.
