Hi! My husband, John, and I are both dog lovers with years of dog-sitting experience. We both work from home and will be able to provide 24/7 care for your pup. Our lives already revolve around our 4-year-old dog, Hank, and we love having doggie pals over. Life is better with dogs around!

Jersey, John and their dog Hank are wonderful. I really felt trusting and that my dog was super well cared for with them. They're simply dog people and dedicate the time to making sure the pups are well walked and tended to. I love that they have a fenced in back yard that the dogs can access anytime. I've already rebooked with them!

It is a pleasure for me to recommend that you hire Jersey Griggs as a dog walker. Besides being a dog lover, she is dependable and trustworthy. And she is an outdoors person. She walked and hiked with our 90 pound labrador retriever on many occasions and took care of him numerous times when my husband and I were travelling. She would always email me the details of what she and Bucky were doing and send pictures of their outings (which was comforting to me). She and her husband rescued a dog when they lived in Montana and so Bucky and her dog, Ralphie, became good buddies. I hope you hire here – you won’t regret it.

As a result of our active lifestyle, we prefer to watch dogs who have good recall, do well in dog-park situations, and are accustomed to walking off-leash. We also prefer to know if there are behaviors that we should be aware of— aggression with other dogs/people, anxiety, or chewing. We'd also like to know if the dog is an escape artist so that we know to keep a close eye on them in the yard.
A typical day
Routine is the name of the game! In the morning we go for an off-leash walk, usually nearby at Willard Beach, Winnick Woods, Great Pond, or the Greenbelt Trails. In the afternoon, we'll take a break from work by walking around the neighborhood for 30 minutes. In the evenings, we go for another stroll or play in the yard. If it is the weekend, we often go for hikes or long walks in the woods. We love the outdoor adventures and only go to places where dogs are allowed! As a result of our active lifestyle, we prefer to welcome dogs who have good recall, do well in dog-park situations, and are accustomed to walking off-leash.

What to Expect If your dog loves routine, then you have found the right place! We will provide 2-3 walks a day, one of which is always off-leash. During the day, dogs have easy access to a large fenced-in backyard for fetch, digging, and general play. We are conveniently located in the Meetinghouse Hill neighborhood of South Portland, with several beaches, parks, and woods nearby. As a result of our active lifestyle, we prefer to watch dogs who have good recall, do well in dog-park situations, and are accustomed to walking off-leash.
