I am a twenty-four-year-old life long dog lover. As a recent college graduate, the idea of earning extra cash while hanging out with dogs is appealing. Becoming a dog sitter/walker would allow me to use skills that I’ve developed from being around dogs all of my life, to make money while having fun. My family has always loved dogs, and we would often find ourselves taking care of our friends and families dogs from time to time. There were always multiple dogs around the house growing up, and because of this I am good at spotting and understanding various nonverbal communication cues from dogs. Currently I am living with three dogs, Buster, Azuki, and Megatron. Starting from an age as early as 12, I have regularly been hired by friends and family to dog sit, and because of this, I have a wide range of dog sitting experiences. I have sat geriatric dogs, who needed help standing up to go to the bathroom. I have also sat 6 week old puppies that needed constant supervision so they wouldn’t destroy any furniture. I have dog sat for time periods ranging from an entire month to just one night. My experiences have required me to give medications in many forms ranging from pills, to eardrops, as well as topical medications. On one occasion, the dog I was watching was so sick that it needed to be force fed with a syringe every hour. I currently have a flexible work schedule, which leaves me available to use Rover at various times through the day. On most days of the week I will be active on rover between 12 pm – 5 pm, whereas on weekends I will be available from 9am -4 pm. It makes me excited to think of all of the dogs I will get to meet while using this app. I get enjoyment from making dogs happy, and I am willing to do any activity to achieve that result, whether it be tug of war, fetch, swimming, or even simply petting. I can promise that I will do everything I can to make the dogs I meet on this app happy, comfortable, and safe.
