About ZeZe

ZEZE IS THE BEST DOG EVER!!! I can't say enough how amazing she is. I know, every dog owner feels their way about their dog. But ours really is the best. :) Everyone at our vet's office loves her and they say she's the friendliest German Shepherd they have ever met. She came to us when she was 6, we inherited her after a family member passed away. She is well trained, extremely mellow -- except that she has the typical German Shepherd guard dog thing going on where she will bark like crazy when someone comes to the door. But as soon as you open the door she is wagging her tail and nudging their hand. She is well behaved on leashed walks (does not pull, responds quickly to redirection), though does often require some distraction/refocusing when she encounters another dog while leashed. While off leash, she is a dream dog. She thrives at Marymoor Park and on hikes. She has excellent recall. Loves to play chase, and the better she knows the dog, the more she will engage in chase. She is a shepherd, after all.

Loves people of all sizes and ages!
  • Gets along with other dogs: Yes
Zeze is a rockstar at off leash parks. When in the off leash park she is very mellow and confident, enjoys playing with the other dogs but often content to just walk along in her own world. On the rare occasions that some brazen dog will try to hump her, she will show him who is boss! She loves to chase and herd. Like lots of German Shepherds she is sometimes reactive, especially when encountering just one or two other dogs on a footpath, but if she does get reactive she responds well to redirection. She barks in these situations but she has never been aggressive. Once she is within a few feet she is super friendly.
  • Gets along with cats: No
Alas. :( She's not aggressive but she just hasn't had a lot of experience with cats so she is on her guard, which puts the cat on guard. After some time with a given cat, she starts to get used to them.

About Ajax

Ajax is the newest member of our family, we adopted him in June 2017 when he was 10 months old. He is still shy around new people but extremely social and playful around dogs. He loves going for hikes in the Cascades and playing at Marymoor off-leash park. Once he gets to know you he is very affectionate. He doesn't seek out affection so much, but if you come up to him he rolls over and offers his belly, and he can lie there and absorb (and give off) endless amounts of love.

  • Sex: Male
  • Age: 2 years, 2 mo. old
  • Weight: 55 lbs
  • Breed: Alaskan Malamute & Mixed
  • Tracking Chip: Yes
  • Neutered: Yes
  • House Trained: Yes
  • Gets along with children: Yes
He really loves gentle affection from kids. He can be a little skittish around them if they are loud, especially if they are in groups of 3 or more. Inside the house he will go and hide under his coffee table, outside the house he will hide behind my legs if he's on leash or run a comfortable distance away if he's off leash.
  • Gets along with other dogs: Yes
Ajax is particularly fond of other northern breeds; sometimes I wonder if he can sense the genetic resemblance. :) He loves playing with young dogs and could do so all day long. On occasion, he will pick up a vibe from a dog that puts him on edge; in these cases he simply moves away, he does not engage in any aggressive or defensive behavior.
  • Gets along with cats: Yes
I have actually never seen him around cats, but he loves rabbits and guinea pigs, so I think there's a good chance he'll do great with cats.

Special Requirements

He is somewhat of an escape artist if left unsupervised in a fenced area. Recommend keeping an eye on him while he's off leash in the yard!
