Happy to Help!

Pet care experience

I have loved and cared for numerous animals throughout my life and growing up. As a kid, I used to find feral kittens in the woods behind my childhood home and try and domesticate them. I had no fear of any barking dogs and brought some of them home too! We owned countless animals growing up: rabbits, hamsters, two dogs and dozens of cats. As a young adult, I had one German Shepard, Katze, who was a rescue. She was very fearful of other dogs and new people. But I was able to help her get to know a neighbor dog and they became great friends. Now I am a proud dog Mom of two beautiful pitbulls. My oldest dog, Earl, I got as a puppy. We went through a puppy/beginners class together and then an intermediate class. I used that learning to train the next puppy I got, Ginger. But even with all the training my dogs are rambunctious. They play rough (with each other) and sleep hard! I am not shy around cats or dogs of any breed, age, personality, or medical need. I have experience giving medicine and adhering to strict diets and skin care routines. If your dog needs to be toweled off after walking in the rain- I can do that! I am gentle and patient with the old, sick or injured. I am confident and able to assert myself as the alpha with more difficult dogs. But I find that most animals need a little of both. Bottom line: I love dogs more than anything else in the world and I would be so grateful to spend time with yours. (Cats are cool too!)

Jenny was awesome as usual. On time and spent quality time with Tabitha. Judging by the great pictures Jenny sends Tabitha looks forward to her visits. We travel with peace of mind know Jenny is taking care of Tabitha.

Our very skiddish rescue Tabitha now feels comfortable with Jenny… that makes us feel comfortable. Jenny is a rock star.

Jenny is fantastic. Highly recommend her. Our rescue is very afraid of people… after a couple visits Tabitha warmed to Jenny and comes out when she arrives. It’s hard leaving your pets, however, Jenny makes it easier. Very satisfied with Jenny.

My home: I have a fairly large, fully fenced backyard with trees, bushes, grass and sticks. We spend a lot of time outside. My home is pretty big too with plenty of comfy spots to take a nap. Even in extreme heat my home stays fairly cool. I have two large kennels, one of which can be adjusted to be smaller. Kennels are used for eating and sleeping and occasional breaks. Dog guests would spend time both inside and outside and in a kennel. Because I have two dogs we take turns during introductions, play time and time outdoors until I am 100% certain everyone is comfortable with each other and safe. I will supervise all dog interaction closely. If there are any concerns I will simply keep the dogs apart by rotating them between indoors, outdoors and kennel time. I will keep your dog(s) with me at all times unless they are in a kennel. Your home=your rules! I'm happy to reinforce routines. Show me where things are and I'd be happy to assist anything pet related. Fill water bowls, measure out food, change litter boxes, bag dog poop in the yard (new and old).. I've even used a dust buster to tidy around litter boxes. Whatever pet care is needed is on the table- as long as it fits into the scheduled time.

Information Jenny T. would like to know about your pet

Food allergies: I use treats to reinforce good behavior. Please let me know if that is a problem or if you have treats of your own. Fears/Triggers: Does your pooch lunge at squirrels? Is it afraid of train whistles? Are there places or things we should avoid on walks? Dog/people friendly: Does your dog love meeting other dogs and people or is there a concern about aggression/fearfulness? Should I cross the street when other dogs are present? Are dog parks ok?

A typical day

I love exploring new neighborhood with my dogs. Is there a park or trail nearby? Maybe there is a cool house with an amazing garden or a hidden stream right around the corner. If there is something to be found we'll sniff it out. I especially love taking pooches to dog parks (with permission, of course). For me, well, I just want to be with ALL the dogs. But it is especial good for your dog. They get to socialize, sniff butts, and run free! It's a great way to get out all that energy so they can nap away the rest of the day. If I am doing a drop in and the yard is fenced, we pretty much stay outside and play! Balls, toys, sticks- treats! I'll get your pooch moving. I always pick up the poo and tidy up any mess we make. Training & Treats: I love working on small things like "sit", "stay" and "come" as well as gentle leash manners. Taking a little time with each visit is so good for mental stimulation and great bonding tool for us. If you have special treats- I'll definitely use those! But I always bring a little something to spoil them with.
