Pet care experience
We are a happy home of two rescued huskies and one rescued cat. We train our dogs daily to be relaxed and well-mannered in our home, on-leash, and in public spaces. We put their health, safety, and happiness first! I have volunteered for several rescues, and my partner has worked at a dog daycare. We take our boys on daily hikes and adventures throughout the Lake Tahoe Basin. We both currently work full time from home on weekdays (except for days when I am working in the field). Tuesday nights are busy, but we are otherwise quite flexible when not traveling ourselves. We have a single-family home with a fenced backyard. We walk 2-3 times a day for a total of 4-6 miles. We also have a multitude of doggie puzzles to keep restless minds active.

Jon works from home, so the dogs always have some companionship during the day. Our dogs are energetic and friendly, but our youngest doesn't take well to being threatened (having been previously attacked). We can't take a dominant male. Our cat is rambunctious and bold. We can only take dogs with a record of positive cat interactions.

Our younger dog has been attacked before, and he doesn't do well around male dogs with assertive personalities. Dogs MUST have a record of positive cat interactions. We DO NOT take dogs that have not been cat tested.
A typical day
We are always hitting the local trails for a bit of adventure. If it's hot, we'll drive to trails with water access to keep cool. We have lots of toys and treat puzzles, and a fenced backyard.

Availability
We walk our pups for an hour before and after work (typically a hike in the morning and a neighborhood walk in the evening), and my partner takes them out for a short walk at lunchtime.
