Pet care experience
I’ve been taking care of animals professionally since 2004 and started my business in 2018. Having started my business in Austin, most of my clients are dogs, but I’ve taken care of lots of cats, and some exotics as well. From bunnies to snakes to everything in between (sorry, only pets with 4 legs or less). I pride myself in communication and owners are kept well informed on how their pets are doing. Drop- ins and walks will receive photos and an updated Rover card at the end of the visit, along with the occasional video sent over messenger. Medical issues or older dogs are not a problem and typically there is no additional charge for special care. In order to help owners plan easier, I don’t charge extra for animals so the price you see initially is the price you pay. I always leave your home just the way I found it and am happy to take out trash cans and grab the mail as well. If you need anything special done just ask! I’m currently only providing house sittings for established clients. Covid precautions: I am fully vaccinated and have received the appropriate boosters. For added safety I wear masks at meet and greets and when in owner’s houses during walks and drop ins. Due to the nature of house sittings I do not wear a mask when others are not present. I am a guest in your home and never expect owners to wear them when we are meeting.

We had never used Rover for house sitting before so we did not know what to expect, but Jen totally exceeded our expectations and made us feel so at ease! She was very professional and we adored getting the frequent updates and pictures. Our larger dog can be picky with people, but she expertly won him over.
Jen is wonderful! She sent frequent updates & pictures and even our grumpy pup loves her. It's hard to find trustworthy overnight sitters, but she is a rockstar!

We took a longer than normal trip away from our 3 babies. Jen took care of them like they were her own. Sent updates and when we did not have service let my mother in law know how the pups were doing. She has been great before and again did an amazing job with them!

. Due to safety concerns retractable leashes cannot be used for walks. Don’t worry if that’s all you have though! I bring plenty of leashes with me so your pup will still get a great walk.

Before walking I need to know about any behavior or leash issues. I have experience walking heavy pullers and leash reactive dogs but I need to know a head of time so I can avoid triggers. As a general rule, I avoid all other dogs while walking and always cross the street when one approaches. I bring treats with me to help redirect when needed (if your pup has allergies or a sensitive stomach please let me know so I don’t give them my treats).
A typical day
Have a dog that needs a long walk and can put in the miles? That’s not a problem, I love walking fast paced dogs! Slow dogs aren’t a problem either. I’m happy to take your furry friend on a stroll to stop and smell the roses. With owner’s permission, I walk my house sitting pups twice a day. I am happy to provide more walks if needed. Safety of the pets in my care always come first. I bring water on every walk and stop for regular breaks. Morning and evening walks are planned around the weather. If extra afternoon walks are requested they will only be provided if it is not dangerous for the dog.
