I love animals! While this is just a part-time gig for me, the main reason I'm on Rover is because my husband and I currently do not have the time and space for our own dog and I miss having a canine companion around. And so I thought: why not help out other dog- and animal-lovers who need to travel or work and are faced with the stressful situation of being away from their furbaby? Along with the dogs I've grown up with (from Cocker Spaniel to Chihuahua to Boxer), I've also had cats my entire life, and taken care of a fair share of birds, gerbils and fish as well. I'm usually the go-to for my friends when they travel – my best fur-pals include a Boston Terrier, husky and tabby cat. :) In my current situation, I work from home as a designer (graphic and web, if you're curious), so I am available during standard "office hours" to drop in on your pup or take him/her out for a spin. (I value the importance of taking breaks in between staring at a computer screen for often 12 hour days, so I'm already out on a walk or bike ride regardless!) Around here in Oakland, I live in a moderately quiet neighborhood that’s great if your pup loves long walks, being around other dogs and people-watching; if your pup has a bit of anxiety, no worries – I'll make sure to take to the side streets and do some flower-gazing instead. But wherever you and your pup reside, I will make sure to accommodate to what he or she needs and is comfortable with, whether it's parks or alleyways, long walks or a short breath of fresh air.
