Pet care experience
Jennifer is a former member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and completed coursework in grooming, pet care, psychology and nutrition. Our own dogs have been involved in HRC hunt tests, AKC hunt tests, field trials, 4-H obedience, agility, rally & showmanship, and CGC tests. We live on a 10-acre farm with a fenced in pasture area for dogs to play in. Dogs in our home are treated like family. Our small homestead acreage has supported over the years a homegrown garden, a soybean or sweet corn crop, a family of chickens, ducklings, Icelandic sheep, peafowl, a couple dairy or beef steers, golden retrievers, and our six children who sometimes enjoy taking part in helping raise our animals and harvest the garden. Our acreage has a lovely walking path through our wooded grove. We raise golden retrievers of our own, too.

Jenn is a very responsible and loving caretaker to our dogs. She ensures they are well fed, always have fresh water, and plays and walks with them. She is very knowledgeable about dog care. Once when our pup had a bur in her fur she suggested cutting the bur in the middle to help make it easier for a brush to go through. Well, it worked perfectly. Jenn is punctual, helps clean up after the dogs as needed. She enjoys working with them in training, too.

We especially enjoy retrievers but will accept any dog up to 100 pounds. We would like to know if your dog has any health concerns or aggression issues to other animals or people prior to dog sitting so that we can mitigate any possible issues. Dogs need to be up to date on rabies vaccinations (it's the law) or have proof of titering. Because we occasionally raise a litter of puppies we also request elective vaccinations such as bordatella, distemper, parvo all be updated as well. Please let me know what we can do to make your dog happy while dog sitting for you.
A typical day
Activities your dog can enjoy include walks through our wooded grove, playing fetch, and freeplay in our fenced pasture area filled with native prairie grass and wildflowers.
