My husband and I first joined Rover because we love dogs but couldn't have one of our own due to our schedules. We loved the dogs we watched and hated to see them go so much that we fostered and immediately foster-failed a dog of our own. But we still take dogsitting seriously. Does your dog love floor time with people? We're floor people who love dogs! Does your dog hate thunderstorms and fireworks? We are those people who will sit in the tub with your whimpery pup until they feel safe. Does your dog have the bad case of the padoodles? That's ok; we've handled doggy mudbutt and mastered cleaning all kinds of doggily fluids off various types of surfaces. Do you like receiving pictures of your dog playing and snoozing while you're away? We are happy to send those while respecting your dog's internet privacy. And yours, I guess. We follow schedules, routines, and instructions closely, and - full disclosure - are overgenerous with the treats you give us to give your pupper. Also, I do have kids, but they're high school kids, and for one reason or another, Rover doesn't have an option for kids older than 12. Both kids have grown up with and around dogs. UPDATE: we fostered and subsequently adopted a dog. He's an old 3-legged cantankerous Labrador mix. He gets along with most dogs, but barks a lot when he's excited, and sometimes gets possessive of toys, but on a fairly manageable scale.
