I have been a dog lover my entire life, had dogs growing up, and had dogs as an adult since 1994. Since 2008 I have been heavily involved with animal rescue and adopted and fostered many dogs. A portion of the doggie boarding fees at my home will be donated to animal rescue, to help animals in need, and to the Richard V. Hodges Scholarship Endowment Fund at the NC State School of Veterinary Medicine. I have a large fenced area for the dogs for exercise and play time. My home is a split level house but is easily adapted for areas of dogs that need special care such as no stairs or dogs that need more time away from other dogs. I have 4 small dogs (4 lbs, 8 lbs, 13 lbs and 25 lbs) of my own. They all get along fine with other dogs. I frequently work from home and my husband is self-employed so our schedules can be very flexible.

Jennifer is amazing with dogs and every pet owner should be thrilled to have her sit their dog. My dog is a custom to sleeping on the bed with me at night and she was welcome to Tom and Jennifer‘s bed as well. Amazing! Mattie connected with Tom instantly and stayed by his side until he left town for a trip and then Mattie jumped over and made best friends with Jennifer. Honestly you couldn’t have a better place!

I have a large fenced yard. My home is split level with many doggies gates throughout to separate dogs when needed. Safety is the most important thing to me. I keep visiting dogs separated from each other and my dogs. I can do this partitioning off rooms, using crates or using dog pens in the house.

It is important for me to know details about your dog's eating and sleeping habits, any medications they are on, have a copy of current vaccine records, know their likes and dislikes, and know any quirks that I should be aware of to keep everyone safe.
A typical day
Activities depend on the individual dog. Some dogs love to run and play with each other in the back yard. Some dogs love to fetch a ball or frisbee. Some dogs like to play with toys inside. Some dogs just need to nap all day.

Caring for my dogs and dogs that are staying with me is what I do many hours every day. These hours include feeding, playing in the back yard, napping, administering medications, and snuggling in front of the TV.
