Experienced, Reliable & Trustworthy

Pet care experience

I am a passionate animal lover. I’ve raised all breeds of cats and dogs ever since I was seven years old. I currently have two cats named Nibblet and Vader. I also have a lovable golden retriever named Korg. In 2019, I became an online college student and a stay-at-home mother after hanging up the uniform after 6.5 years of honorable service in the US Air Force. Serving in the military has given me the skills to multi-task and keep a calm mind during chaos. Animals are my passion and lead me to pursue a degree as a veterinary technician. If I could adopt all the cats, dogs, and rabbits in the world, I’d be one happy mama. However, my husband wouldn’t be too thrilled.

We just moved here from another state and had to find fur baby care quickly as we had to make a fast trip. First time using Rover, however not our last. Jennifer was a perfect fit for our needs , our cats loved her and we were thrilled with her excellent care and keeping us up to date on the kitties . I highly recommend Jennifer for your pet needs. Thank you so much Jennifer???

So glad we found Jennifer! I turned to Rover after we had a negative experience boarding our boxer girl, and SO GLAD we did! When we returned from our trip our girl was so calm and content...not stressed at all. Jennifer is now part of our Gracie girls family... I can leave her without any doubts that she will be not just taken care of, but loved as well. Jennifer has a calming, gentle nature and is reliable and trustworthy...thank you Jennifer!

-----------WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A DROP-IN VISIT: I will spend time with your animals and care for them at your house for 15 minutes (cats) -30 minutes (dogs). I can take your dog for a short 15-minute walk (weather permitting) around the block and bring them back home during this visit if desired. I usually use a jogging stroller for walks. I enjoy giving belly rubs and playing fetch. I am more than willing to feed/fill water bowls or clean out litter boxes (if needed, for no additional charge). I do photo updates and a detailed rover card of services rendered and what your fur baby and I did together. I can care for more than one animal, but please note that there is an additional charge of $7 for each additional adult dog or $4 for each additional cat. I do charge extra for puppies ($20), but I promise I will help with training while they are with me. ***DISCLAIMER FOR DROP-IN VISIT: Please note that for any drop-in visit requests that occur Monday-Friday before 6:30 pm, I might have to bring my daughter with me. Please note that I am not responsible for the messes your animals make before/after I leave. For safety reasons, I can NOT accept aggressive dogs or dog/child-reactive dogs. ------------WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A DOG WALK: I'll pick up and drop off your dog from your home and walk your dog along the route you prefer or around the neighborhood. Your dog can expect to walk up to 2 miles with me for 30-50 minutes. If your dog enjoys playing fetch, I'd love to play with him in the park. I'll check on your dog's water and replenish it as needed, as well as give a treat if you'd like. I do photo updates, and the Rover card that gets sent to you will show a GPS map of where we went together. I can walk more than one dog at a time; however, please be aware that there is an additional $7 charge per additional dog. I do charge extra for puppies ($20), but I promise I will help with training while they are with me. ***DISCLAIMER FOR DOG WALK: Please note that for any dog walks requested Monday-Friday, before 6:30 pm, I might have to bring my daughter with me. I do utilize a jogging stroller. If your dog is afraid of strollers, I can help with familiarizing your dog with it, or another sitter might be a better fit for your pet(s). For safety reasons, I can NOT accept aggressive dogs or dog/child-reactive dogs.***

Information Jennifer H. would like to know about your pet

A few things I’d like to know is: - If the dog/cat is a known biter - What is the current level of training, and have they passed Canine Good Citizen? - Do they feel comfortable around small children and other animals? - How do your animals react in new situations - Do they have any destructive behaviors or fears? - Are there any health concerns I should be aware of? - What is their usual temperament/personality? - What does their daily routine consist of? - What are their favorite treats and activities? - In the event of an emergency, who do I contact, and who is your pet's veterinarian? - Is your dog crate trained? - Is your dog house-broken? ***Are you within 5 miles of Lee's Golf Course (10200 Old Dominion Pkwy, Fredericksburg, Va, 22408)? I do have a strict service radius limit. *** Please note that my prices are firm and non-negotiable. (Quick Breakdown of Rover fees: Rover takes 20% of the booking fee from me (the sitter) and charges you (the client) 5-7% (of the booking fee) plus the booking fee. (For example: If the booking cost is $100, Rover will keep $20 from of that, so I only receive $80 of that, and Rover would charge you $105-$107) I can not control the percentage that Rover charges on top of the booking fee or change the percentage of the booking fee that Rover takes from me.) I'd also like to know if there is anything I can do as an animal caretaker to be helpful/make you feel more comfortable and if my situation with my toddler is a good fit for you.

It is imperative to me that you be as informed as possible before booking. I can provide additional references and more detailed information during a meet and greet. All meet and greets for new clients must be completed no later than 24 hours before the start of the booking request. Please note: I do require proof of current vaccinations during the meet/greet for ALL services rendered. I have childcare in the evenings during the week, and all day on the weekends if you aren’t comfortable with my child tagging along with me. There is a short explanation about Rover Fees located in the "What Jennifer would like to know about your pet" section, which helps clarify why my prices are firm and non-negotiable.
