Thank you for this Oppawtunity!

Pet care experience

Hello, Thank you for stopping by! My name is Jennifer. I currently have 3 kitties of my own. I do know how nerve-racking it could be leaving your pet with someone. I have left prior sitters visuals, maps, drawings when I have gone away (thank you OCD lol). I am probably a bit much but I need to know that while I'm away, my fur children are in nurturing loving hands not missing me. To say I am protective is an understatement. ***Please before you go on reading…yes, I understand my fees are higher than most. Upon meeting me, you will understand why. I will offer knowledge that may help you with your furbaby. If you are having a hard time with behavioral issues where other sitters won’t know what to do, I most likely will. The plethora of knowledge about dogs/cats/horse/fish/etc that is infinite. I may be able to offer you a couple tips that are possibly life changing. No, I do not have all the answers (if anyone says they do…you should most likely run). However, my knowledge regarding animals is far superior than the average pet sitter. I am 40 years old. I have chosen to take on this work because my heart is very into it. However, now that I am mostly home working on a project it makes it easier for me to sit for your pet. Unfortunately, boarding a dog overnight within my home who has a lot of behavioral issues would not be a good fit for my cats nor is it fair to do to them. If it is a mini breed or a larger vet well trained dog, we can discuss (please reach out as it can’t hurt to ask) Currently, I do not have my profile said to board as I only take rare cases. Right now I currently have my settings off just staying others homes but that may change later on. Again this has to be discussed and I work with certain people for certain reasons. I wouldn’t mind staying at your home if you needed me to give your pets a lot of love, adoration, full blown attention-enforce your commands that youd like for me to withhold, have a couple of cognitive/ physical training sessions to help you with some behavioral issues/keep your pup sharp, etc. If this is what you seek, I may be your gal. I welcome cameras in the home so that you are able to see how well you beloved companion is doing with me. I wish more people had them to be quite honest as you get to see how your pet is truly doing when you are not around. My experience with animals comes from the many years over time of being involved with rescue, surrounded by trainers, healers, tons and tons of self knowledge, audio books, old fashioned books lol, etc. It is in my nature that when I am with your pet that my full attention is with your pet and your pet only. I myself have hired pet sitters who would sit on their phone while pet sitting and it was pretty irritating. I know the type of person I would want watching my animals because I have been there before with both kittens/cat and/or puppies/dogs. It really bothers me when I go to the dog park and the owners aren't paying close attention to their dogs. Unfortunately, we live in an age where cell phones have become top priority these days :/ I promise you wholeheartedly that this is something you will never have to worry about. You pet has my UNDIVIDED love and attention at all times on my watch. It is pertinent for your pet that I uphold and take full responsibility as your pet sitter to give them all my attention the entire time. All of my pups learned their basic commands very early on. Its everything to me when a dog is speaking the same language as its owner. I wish to take your lead and follow everything precisely. When putting a dog on a "heel" command during a walk, my attention has to be two places: 1-the pup and 2-the environment. I have fostered 2 dogs and have trained 3 dogs. I have broken the prey drive of 2 beautiful pit bulls and one tree walking coonhound/terrier dog with my cats. I have also broken anxiety of one of the dogs I was fostering. Truly it was a lot of work, time, patience, repetition and more patience but I got to learn so much about speaking dog. They teach you so many things. I had a very hard time finding someone to board my pup when I had him because I knew a bit more than they did which left me on edge. I sifted through a lot of sitters and it wasn't until I had someone teaching me something that I felt 100% confident in leaving my fur baby with them. I have worked along side with trainers and have read heaps fulls of dog language books/manuals/dvd's etc. I have been called the dog whisperer, cat whisperer/animal whisperer. I will be attending a workshop in the near future for animal communication to further my education with animals. I look forward to building a career from this. Only took me 40 years to get here! I have obtained one Bachelors degree and a second Associates as well as obtaining my NYS license for massage therapy (for humans lol). I am very passionate about animals and have been called a healer. I am Reiki two certified and do Reiki for animals. My entire heart is into this because animals don't have a voice. When I tell someone I can speak cat or dog they may look at me like I am from the funny farm but its true. There is a way of listening to an animal by its body language, sounds, breathing, even yawning etc. I have clipped anxious pet owners pets nails, wiped out floppy ears, burrito wrapped cats for clippings, I’m able to administer medicine without a problem (there are tricks for this), brushing, you name it and I've probably done it. Anyway I can help, I am always willing if its for the cause of an animal. Snuggles are my favorite thing along with interactive puzzle type of games that your pups will crave if they would be so kind to join me of course. No job is too big for me to handle : ) Please let me know if you would like the garbage taken out, plants watered, etc. I am able to light housework if necessary. I will send a TON of pics upon your request because I know how on edge, especially first time sits, will be for you. NOTE***Please let me know if your dog gets along with cats as this is the only way I can accept them for the safety of my own fur children as well as for the safety of your own pup*** I do sit for cats as well outside of my home. I wish I were able to cat sit but I have an open concept home. I have built doors but I cannot mix the sense of a cat with other cats in my home due to it bringing stress to my own kitties. It is not fair for my own and they have to be my first priority always. Any information provided for your pet, I will adhere to. I always take 30 min to an hour a day for play when it comes to my own. Please let me know your instructions-cats likes and dislikes, allergies etc. I prefer crated pets because with this, it comes security and a lot less anxiety for your pet when used correctly and for positive reinforcement only. I like to think of it as a floating bedroom for them :) Looking forward to meeting you and your fur-baby/fur-babies soon! *Please note, yes…my fees are more than average because I am at a very advanced level when it comes to caring for you furbaby/furbabies. I also have my own business asides from this working as as a therapist and pet care sitter so I do have a full plate! However, I would be willing to make and exception if the opportunity (especially be it someone local/within my mileage) presented itself!

Jennifer is perfect for dog sitting! She’s a HUGE animal lover. She is the person that will stop driving to save and rescue any animal that she sees out there on the street. She’s even a great dog trainer. There is no doubt that she will put her heart and soul and full attention on your dog. You will never have to worry and she will make her home your pets home! -Christina I.

Jennifer is a wonderful, professional and fabulous pet sitter. Your fur baby will be taken care of like they are her own. (I’ve never known more loved & spoiled pets in all my life) If you’re looking for someone trustworthy and to love on your pet while you’re not able, she’s your gal!

I’ve known Jennifer for over 10 years and I’ve never seen a more loving, compassionate animal lover than her. She has rescued dogs and cats and found homes for many. Her training skills are also phenomenal. She has a way with animals that is unbelievable. I would trust her 100% with the care of my dog or cat.

Information Jennifer F. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know the following: *Has your dog ever had training *His/her language so that I may be on the same page (commands, etc.) *Are there any food/toy/people aggression so I know what I am up against (If your dog has ever bit any one, etc. This is very pertinent information for me. I typically never let a dog go nose to nose as this is the easiest way, especially on a leash, for dogs to wind up getting in trouble because they are only trying to protect us. *Vet information *Your pets favorite thing to do with you *Your pets favorite activity to do alone *What comforts your pet *What frightens your pet or makes them upset or react in a negative manner (I may be able to help with this) *Favorite snack *Any allergies *Last but not least, your pets favorite scratchy spots (The more info the better for me and most importantly your furry baby/babies I do not have a breed preference...I love them all. When it comes to being biased about breeds, it is never the breed, its the owner. I have trained puppies as well. I do charge a bit more for puppies because they are a lot of work! Im sure I don't have to tell you if you have one lol

A typical day

I am willing to take your pup wherever you would like me to with your permission. I love doing hikes and trails, the beach, a jog around a few blocks, etc. There is a saying you can't teach an old dog new tricks but that is false. You can and I have. I can prove it if tested ; ) I love to do training sessions because it tires out a dog mentally and physically which is what they crave. Please google if you don't understand why. However, I wouldn't ever train a dog until exhausted because an exhausted dog is an unhappy dog. There are time limits. A dog who is given a task lives for this. It keeps him/her mentally sharp and in shape. They feel they are doing something beyond amazing for you be sure it’s a total confidence booster for them. I can help out with tips if you'd like me to and if warranted. Think of me as super nanny for your pet : )

I am currently working from home so I am pretty flexible where as time is concerned. Occasionally I will run to the store and back but it also depends on the dog so if I had to prepare myself a few days before your dogs arrival, I have no problem with this at all. I am flexible where this is concerned :) Let’s talk…maybe there is something I have missed in my profile but I try to be as descriptive as possible. I appreciate you taking the time to read everything I have written. Quite the novel, I am aware but I feel as a fellow pet owner myself, that you would want to know everything about who your pet is spending quality time with so I try to be as thorough as possible 🙂
