We have almost an acre and a 3 year old pup who loves other dogs. We crate her when we aren't home but are comfortable with not crating your dog if that is what they are used to. Our yard has a split rail fence so we use 30ft leads when we bring the dogs out. And we live on a beautiful dead end road which makes the perfect spot for taking the dogs on nice walks!
