Day Care and boarding offered

Pet care experience

Hello, my name is Jennifer and I have been working with animals for 17 years. The last 10 years have been spent running my pet sitting company which offered both pet sitting in your home and in ours. In addition to my company I have been an adoption coordinator for a local rescue and actively involved with fostering and caring for special needs animals. I am certified in CPR and first aid as well as 8 years in a vets office as a vet tech. We have the ability to administer oral, and injectable medications That your pet may need. Our home is approx 3000 sqft and has access to a fully fenced yard of approx 3/4 acres with a locked gate. We have a dog door that is open on avg 15 hours a day, with the exception or night time when we can not be out with your pet or if we step out (maximum 30 minutes). We do have the ability to safely section off your pet for quiet time within our home if needed. The health of your pet and ours is one of the most important things to us. Our yard is professionally sanitized once a week to ensure your pets safety from germs. The yard is picked up twice daily, toys are disinfected after every pet stay and visit and or twice a week, fresh filtered water is available to your pet 24/7 thanks to Pet safe fountains for indoor and out. Most importantly someone is here 24/7 for your pet and while in our care you pet becomes part of our family. My only job is caring for you pets. ***Also offer a day care option**** Why I love dog sitting I have grown up with dogs and typically have had 2-3 large to giant dogs at all times throughout my life. I initially went to college for pre vet so I worked as a vet tech during that time to aid in paying for college. Due to un for seen circumstances I was unable to follow through with vetrinarian medicine and decided to continue on my path as a veterinarian technician instead. In 2004 I had my second child and wanted the ability to stay home with her so I opened a pet sitting business. In addition to my pet sitting business, which is a family affair, I have heavily participated in Rescue by fostering and helping to coordinate adoptions. In addition we have happily fostered well over 100 dogs and cats including several special needs animals and orphaned litters. Meet my pets We have three loving dogs (2 large breed and 1 toy breed) who live with us 24/7 who are UTD on their vaccines (available on request), and on HW and flea and tick meds. They both are CGC (canine good citizen members) and have gone through obedience training. We only use positive reinforcement behavioral training in our home. In addition we may have a foster dog in our home who has been thoroughly behavioral tested to ensure he or she will be friendly with dogs, cats, and people. In addition we have 3 dog savvy cats who have grown up with dogs of all sizes. About my yard We have approx .75 acres that is fully fenced with a split rail fence and a coated wire inside for smaller pets. The wire fully reaches down into the ground to prevent even the smallest of guests from getting out. Total height is 48 inches. It is almost completely flat with a rectangle like design. There is a large patio that your dog can enjoy sunning themselves on that includes several umbrellas that are up on sunny days. On warm days we have a kiddie pool that gets set up for those dogs who love the water. My experience administering medication Yes I have many years of veterinarian technician experience in a vets office as well as years of fostering special needs pets. There are two people in the home who can administer IV medication (kidney patients), injectable medications, and oral medications. We understand, better then most, that special needs pets are some of the hardest to find sitters for. We have our own special needs pet who needs several medications for hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, and a heart condition. We understand many medical conditions including kidney disease, heart patients, orthopedic, and Mega E dogs to name. Few.

Jennifer is the best dog-sitter around. We have used her about 8 times for various lengths of stay and our Bernese mountain dog loves staying at her house. Our dog loves all of the playmates at Jennifer’s. She is always very well taken care of while we are away. Jennifer is accommodating and available if we need to get in contact with her to check on our pup. I can’t recommend her highly enough. If your dog likes to be around other dogs Jennifer is the dog sitter to use.

Jen was awesome! We dropped off our 2 month old German Shepard puppy Kona with Jen for doggy daycare for 2 days. We did a short meet and greet prior to dropping her off and my wife and I were very impressed, Jen was very professional and a true dog lover. She was very flexible in drop-off and pick-up times. We won't hesitate sending Kona back to Jen! Kona was treated great and we received status updates on how our puppy was doing throughout the day (with pics and video). Our dog loved being around her dogs and I think had a great time, she got to make many new friends. Couldn't have asked for a better person to watch our puppy.

Information Jennifer F. would like to know about your pet

We do not breed discriminate and take pets on a case by case basis. I do ask that all pets are kid friendly and cat or little pet approved before coming into my home. I naturally expect new pets to be leery in a new environment which can cause their behavior to deviate from their normal pattern. So we have quiet areas set up in our home where your pet can acclimate without being stressed.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks Our neighborhood is one big cul de sac that is surrounded by farm land. Their is close to no traffic on the big circle that equates to about a mile total. For dogs that enjoy extra company we do plan trips to glascows dog park or middletowns dog park. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Your dog will sleep in our home where they sleep in yours. If they prefer being crated we have several sizes on hand that can be placed within our bedroom or in a central location (family room etc). If they prefer they can either sleep on one of the many dog beds around the home or in one of our beds ;) Time I'll spend with your dog This is my only job! I am hear all day and night with your pet minus 30 minutes here and there throughout the week for mom driving duties. If your dog enjoys car rides they are welcome to come along! We use a leash system that clips into our seat belts within the vehicle for your dogs safety. Dogs are like family to me. We go for walks, snuggle on the couch together, and if aloud we sleep together. I do prefer to keep the dogs on the same schedule they have while you are gone. This makes the transition much easier for me and them.
