Professional and Experienced

Pet care experience

I'm the owner of All Living Things Pet & Livestock Sitting. I've been very successful in the North-West Las Vegas valley, for several years, and moved to the St George area about 6 years ago; finally bringing my services to this valley that I've loved for so long! I've worked in the animal industry, in some capacity, for over 30 years as a riding instructor, barn manager, groom, shelter manager, animal control officer, veterinary assistant, dog groomer, dog trainer, and pet sitter. I've trained my own dogs in virtually every kind of dog sport available. My clients have included sheep, pigs, goats, cattle, rabbits & other small rodents, tortoises, chickens, ducks, horses, bearded dragons, large & small birds, large exotic cats, tarantulas, and of course, dogs & cats. I can administer, subcutaneous, intramuscular, & intravenous (dogs only) injections, and am certified in CPR & First Aid by Pet Tech. My experience is extensive, and animals aren't just the only profession I've ever known, but my passion! Experience, professionalism, & attention to detail are imperative in this business; and what you will find when you retain my services. One very important piece of information… I require all dogs boarded in my home to have proof of a current rabies, parvo, distemper, and bordetella vaccine, or a current clear titer test. Most people either screen shot/photograph this, and text it to me, or have their vet e-mail me directly. As of January 2 2022, I’ll be accepting dogs for daycare, and be available to my client dogs 7 days a week! Rover sitting and daycare, will become full time for me, in addition to the board & train clients I have through my private business. I have two dog friendly, and social, dogs of my own, as well as typically having a variety of other social dogs here for daycare and boarding. It’s busy, and it’s fun! I do keep a separate play area in my main living space for small dogs, and trips outside are done on a rotation. All dogs must be crate trained for nap time, and to allow for the rotation of less social (or smaller/larger) dogs, or for instances when I have to step out for an errand.

We love Jennifer! We used to live in St. George and used her all the time. We moved but still use her when we come back to town! My dogs are always so so happy to see her! I know they’re very well cared for every time they go to her.

Information Jennifer D. would like to know about your pet

It's crucial for me to know the pet's schedule, because a consistent routine helps to keep pets stress free. I'm also very interested in any established behavior requirements by the pet parent, as well as any behavior problem, or signs of stress, the pet might exhibit. I never want a client to come home to a pet displaying a new undesirable behavior. Of course all medical information, past & present, is imperative as well. It’s best to bring your dog’s food, and a few comforts of home. Like a blanket, or bed, and maybe a favorite toy, & treats.

A typical day

My background in competitive dog sports, means that I have extensive experience in engagement & drive building exercises. This looks like play & tricks to most dog owners. I offer this as part of my pet sitting services, just as enrichment activity. So playing ball, tug-o-war, nosework games etc, are all activities I try to introduce & engage client dogs in, if there's interest. Some dogs prefer puzzle games, treat time & cuddles. Everything, of course. is catered to the desires & needs of the individual pet, and what is agreed upon by the pet parent. I'm very flexible, and want your pet's routine to be disrupted as little as possible. I offer dog training as a separate service of my own business. I use a positive, balanced, and somewhat unique marker based system for communication. I've yet to see a dog not thrive with this simple technique, and at least one session including "pet parent participation" is required.
