Any weather dog walker

Pet care experience

I have been a dog owner for 14 years of two miniature Dachshunds. Also I have taken care of my friends dogs for weekends at my apartment. The dogs have ranged from as big as a Siberian Husky to as small as a Corgi puppy. I would enjoy taking care of dogs all shapes and sizes. In terms of availability I am available almost every weekend to take care your dog. I am also available to walk dogs most mornings and later afternoons. In terms of special skills I have had experience in teeth cleaning, eye care and working with older dogs. Your dogs would love me for my willingness to play with them, give them tasty treats and also giving them the great bellyrubs.

She was great and I was very comfortable having her stay in my house for a weekend. My dogs love her and she sent pictures of them every day

Jenny has been an animal person her entire life. While in high school, Jenny participated in both a Veterinary Explorer Post and a Zoo Explorer Post. Jenny volunteered over 70 hours per year as part of Zoo Crew at Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, NE where she conducted animal enrichment activities, answered question about the zoo and educated the public about zoo animals. During her first two years of medical school in Missouri, Jenny was always willing and eager to take care of pets belonging to fellow medical students. With her move to Michigan in June 2018, she no longer has those opportunities. The schedule of a third-year medical student changes as the rotation assignment changes. Jenny realizes that such a non-regular schedule is not a good environment for any pet, so she does not have a pet currently living with her. She would if she could, but living alone in an apartment she knows it would be hard on any pet to be alone for extended periods with an unpredictable schedule. Jenny has two 14-year-old miniature dachshunds living with her parents over 700 miles away in Omaha. She misses them a great deal, but she also knows they are better off in the house where they grew up and a regular schedule for these senior gentlemen. She has always put the interest of animals before her own. Jenny requires that I send her daily pictures of her dachshunds and she can watch her dogs on three video cameras set up around the house. But pictures and cameras are not the same as hugging her dogs. Whenever Jenny comes home, the first thing she wants to do is to hug her dogs. Parents and friends are fine, but hanging out with her dogs is the primary focus of any visit home. Recently when I ask her what she would do if she won the Powerball jackpot, her eyes lit up and she immediately said she would have a “pack of dachshunds.” She went on to describe a pack of at least six dachshunds running around like her great grandfather had on a farm in Germany, Jenny described that as “heaven.” Jenny believes that becoming a pet sitter or dog walker is a good alternative at this time in her life. I can’t think of anyone who would be a more loving, caring and reasonable provider for pets of any kind.

When Jenny was a child, whenever I would ask her what she wanted for her birthday or Christmas, she would always smile and say: 'all I want is a dog.' Her mother was always a "yes" on this, but I took convincing. After a few years of this, I said, if you conscientiously walk Ron and Sue's new dog, several times a week this summer, we will get you a dog. I thought she wouldn't stick with it, but she did, and picked out her 'best birthday present ever,' Willy the miniature short-haired dachshund. Willy is now 14 and Jenny Skypes with us almost every day (more to see him than us ;) Jenny was important in Willy's care throughout her middle school and high school years. When Willy was a few years old, our vet said that the only place that could save Willy's eye (he had severe dry-eye in his left eye that had complications), was the veterinarian school at Kansas State. Jenny held on to Willy as my wife and I hopped in the car and drove us all from Omaha to Kansas. A few years later Willy suffered severe anemia from a rare reaction to an antibiotic. Our vet again told us that the closest place that could give Willy the blood transfusion he needed was Kansas State. Once again Jenny held Willy as we drove to Kansas State, where we stayed for a few days as they fought to save him. During her childhood, through high school, Jenny's career goal was to become a small animal veterinarian. When Jenny was in middle school, she had to spend a week doing a career-related internship. She interned with a veterinarian. She was so proud of herself in the white coat they gave her to wear. When I went to pick her up at the end of the first day, I was worried to see a large band-aid on her nose. She explained that the vet had given a shot to a small old dog in pain from multiple health problems. She had felt sorry for this poor old guy, so she went over to give him a hug, at which point he bit her on the nose. I am sorry to say that I couldn't help laughing, thinking this bite would cure her of her plans to be a vet. But she defended the old guy, saying that the bite was her fault, not his. After that, she stuck with her plans to be a vet for many years, only switching from dog medicine to human medicine after realizing that the scarcity of doctors for humans was greater than the scarcity of vets for dogs. Jenny is a consistently conscientious person in all ways. I have never met anyone who loves dogs more than she.
