'Paws' & Relax in Olathe, KS

Pet care experience

Looking for a calm, relaxed environment for your "best friend?" That's the energy your pet will feel here. I will adhere to your rules, boundaries, and limitations to maintain your leadership, but more importantly, I WILL LOVE YOUR DOG(S) JUST AS YOU DO! Here are the Top 10 Questions (asked and answered) that may help you decide to book with me on Rover: 1. How do we get started? First, set up an account with Rover or move your DogVacay account to Rover (they have merged!). Next, CHECK MY CALENDAR! It is always current, and updated. It is usually pretty full, especially at holiday times. Reserve your dates well IN ADVANCE! (Some clients book on Rover, then make their own travel plans!) If your dates are available, request the reservation online. Rover provides insurance for your pets while in my care – so every booking must be made online, through Rover.com. **Dates not available?** CONTACT ME via Rover! In your message, include the dates you need. I will try to accommodate your request if possible. If I cannot accept your baby in my home, there is another option that is not advertised: ~If your pet(s) can manage at home, alone, for four or five hours at a time, as well as overnight, and, if you live relatively close to me (within 20 miles), I can often arrange to visit your "furry friend(s)" at YOUR house, 3 or 4 times a day while you are away. I cannot stay at your house, but 4 visits usually look like this: ~Early in the morning (7:00 AM), Walk, Feed ~Mid-day (noon), Potty-break, Play, Cuddle ~Supper time (5:30 PM), Walk, Feed ~Bed-time (11:00 PM), Potty-break, Play, Cuddle If I am visiting your pup(s), I can also care for any other "friends" in the house. . . cat(s), bird(s), hamster(s), etc. . . . . according to your instructions. I have been known to collect mail, water the plants, and put out the trash for pick-up . . . . . I won't clean or do dishes . . . . I don't even do that at my own house! 2. What does it cost? After nearly 5 years, I have recently raised my regular fee to $25 per dog, per night. in my home. You will find that this is MUCH less costly than boarding your baby at a kennel, a veterinarian, a doggie-daycare, or an extended-stay facility. PLUS, you can be assured that your pet will get individual attention, lots of play and exercise, and the same level of TLC you provide at home! If you prefer that your dog be the 'only child' while at my house, the fee is a bit higher ($35 per night). I will not accept any other reservations and your pup will have my undivided attention! Be sure to note this when you make the reservation. I will adjust the fee manually. 3. How does the online booking work? Rover will notify me as soon as you request a booking, and if my calendar is open, I will accept it. Your credit card is charged at the time of the booking, and you are all set. 4. Will you have other dogs during my pet’s stay at your house? Your dates on my calendar will change to "unavailable" as soon as you book, and I accept, your reservation. Occasionally, a "frequent flyer" (repeat customer) might ask me to watch a dog I know very well, at the same time another client is booked. If the “humans” are all amenable, and if all dogs are calm, stable, and friendly with other animals, I usually accept the additional request as a courtesy, but I would not do that without your knowledge and approval. I am home most of the time, and my guests are always well-supervised. However, if it became necessary, I could separate my furry-friends between a gated kitchen, a large, comfortable kennel, a closed bedroom, or a closed office (both with large windows, comfy furniture, and plenty of toys!). That has rarely happened, as all guests have the run-of-the house, all the time. 5. Can we meet you before reserving online? Absolutely! I encourage you to bring your dog over to meet me before your trip. I do not require it – this is your option. We can arrange a “meet-and-greet” at my home, at a park, or even at your home. Many pets like to come over to “sniff out the house” before they arrive for their stay. Just request it online, before or after you book the reservation. 6. Do you have a fenced yard? No, I do not have a fenced yard, but I take my "guests" for 2 long walks a day (first thing in the morning, before breakfast . . . . and again before dinner, in the evening.) We also take some short potty breaks in between, and before bed, all based upon the needs and preferences of your dog. There is a large open field near my house, as well as a wonderful walking trail (a little more than a mile long) that encircles the neighborhood. All my dogs love to walk in both areas, always on a leash. They have a great time sniffing (bunnies, birds, squirrels, coyotes, fox, geese, turtles, and who-knows-what else!). 7. How will my dog spend the day? He/she will play, sleep, walk, eat, and just 'hang-out' with me~I have a flexible schedule and I am at home as much as possible. EVERY dog is a lapdog at my house. Your baby will be able to cuddle up with me on the couch, on the floor, or anywhere he/she chooses. I will always make sure your furry friend is comfy and safe when I go out. My kitchen can be "secured" with a baby-gate that allows my dogs to see out, but stay in. I also have one large kennel. If your dog is accustomed to using a crate, you are welcome to bring your own, or just bring the blankets, pillows, and paraphernalia to snuggle inside mine. ALL my furry-friends are welcome to sleep in my bed at night, but I will do my best to keep "your routines and practices" in place. If you bring a dog bed, and ask me to use it, I will. 8. What should we bring? After you book, I will send ask you to share your email address. I will reply with a map and simple directions to my house. and a reminder list that makes packing for your furry friend a little easier. 9. What other information do you need? Most important are your pet's vaccination records and your vet's contact information. ** In nearly 5 years in this business, I have never had an occasion to contact a client's vet, but should there ever be a need for emergency care, I would contact my own vet first. On the way, I would contact YOU, to let you know what was happening. If my DVM recommended that your "furry friend"seen by your veterinarian, I would arrange that immediately. ** In the Rover app, note your dog's daily schedule with feeding instructions. If you prefer you may send this info to me in email, or bring a hard copy when you come. Finally, let me know your preferred drop-off and pick-up times. I am very flexible and will try my best to make it convenient for YOU. If you have an early flight, consider bringing your baby the evening before so that you have one less thing to worry about first thing in the morning. On the last day of the stay, I will have everything packed and ready to go when you arrive. Those reunions are awesome ~ your dog will be wildly excited to see you! 10. Can we ask anyone else about you and your services? Sure!! There are lots of reviews online – all very positive and flattering. I am very grateful when my clients recommend me to their friends. They know I love their babies, and pamper and spoil them just as their humans would do at home! Take a moment to view the photos on the Rover.com website. All the dogs have been guests at my house. Book a stay on Rover.com for YOUR furry friend, and he or she could be the next member of this esteemed "club!" *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* NOTE: At this time, I only offer sitting for DOGS; I don’t currently accept cats in my home, but I can arrange to check-in on your cat(s), at your house. I will visit, clean the litter box, insure that the food and water bowls are full, play, cuddle, and give "kitty" treats, if allowed. While I am there, I am also happy to care for other pets (fish, birds, hamsters, etc) according to your instructions. Ask for more information!

We used Jennifer for the second time and we were just as happy this time as we were the first time. I truly believe Jennifer takes good care of the dogs she cares for. Our little dog gets to sit on her lap, lay in her bed with her and snuggle with her whenever she wants. I don't ever have any concerns leaving our little girl with her.

Jennifer has been watching our Phoebe while we go on out of town trips for almost 10 years now. She is the only one on Rover that would trust with our dog. When we left this time Phoebe was happier to see her than she was to say goodbye to us. That should tell you what kind of caregiver Jennifer is.
