Pet care experience
Like a lot of kids, I thought I wanted to be a veterinarian when I grew up. A reality check set in when I couldn’t pass organic chemistry in college, so I decided I should probably change my major 😅. I’ve always enjoyed helping people, so I figured social work would be a good choice. This led me to a career in animal shelters where I got to help animals and people in a unique setting. I worked as a caregiver, adoption coordinator, and behavioral consultant during my 10 years in shelter work. The best part of my job (obviously) was seeing animals leave the shelter with their new families. Having worked with so many different dogs/cats over the years, I consider myself to be especially understanding of adopted/rescue animals. Pit bulls and chihuahuas hold a special place in my heart. I am comfortable caring for/walking dogs with leash reactivity and other behavioral quirks or special needs. I also love cats!
Reviews
Jennifer is so great! She is super sweet and patient with our pups. We definitely recommend her :)
Jennifer took wonderful care of my Border Collie Lab, Francis. Francis is a high energy dog and becomes fear aggressive with other dogs and people. Jennifer was very understanding of this behavior and went above and beyond to work with him on their walk. She is punctual and communicates clearly with a quick response time. I especially appreciated the pictures she posted of Francis during their walk, it reassured me that he was in good hands. I highly recommend her for any service she provides.
Jen is so sweet! She did an amazing job looking after my puppy while I was at work for a few days. She took her on long walks, gave her lunch, and played with her at home. She was so amazing and she even worked with my puppy on some of her trainings that we are learning through puppy training. Absolutely great person and very great dog sitter ?
Jennifer happily agreed to meet with my cat, Mocha and I even after I explained her injected medication needs. She was able to quickly assess the situation and seemed confident in carrying out the task at hand (injecting Sub Q fluids). Her on-the-spot thinking as well as her experience was evident in the way she interacted and handled the situation. She even gave me some tips and tricks to try to make my fur baby more comfortable during this process. I was very pleased with the overall visit and could tell that she really cares about animals!

I care for all animals as if they were my own, just as I would want someone providing care for my own animals to do for them.
Information Jennifer B. would like to know about your pet
I can care for any breed/size of dog, I just need to know if he/she has any behavioral issues ahead of time. Maybe they’re fearful of men, or reactive towards other dogs, or show sign of separation anxiety. My dog HATES the UPS driver…and my sister has a cat who will instantly devour a hair tie if you set it down on the counter for even a millisecond. I am totally understanding of these things, but it’s helpful to know about them ahead of time. All I ask is to be honest with me so we can all have a positive experience!
A typical day
Hiking/walking (distance/duration depends on individual dog's needs). Our outdoor walks/hikes will be done on-leash for your dog’s safety. In-home care usually consists of playing with toys and cuddling. I understand that every dog is different, so we can talk about your dog’s needs and adjust our routine accordingly.

When I’m not pet-sitting/dog-walking, I’m usually out, enjoying the mountains. I love skiing, snowboarding, camping, hiking and just being outside. Pet-sitting gives me the flexibility to be able to do a job that I love while still having free-time to explore the Eastern Sierra.
