Pet care experience

I’ve had dogs around me for as long as I can remember. I’ve never been one to be scared of them or be bitten and I can make friends with any type of dog! I am very strict with dogs that need to be trained, don’t have a problem with picking up poop, and don’t mind being covered in fur! I’ve owned two pit bulls, a German Shepard and a Visla/Ridgeback mix in the past so I am able to deal with the strength that comes with giants like them. I love all types of canines and would love to meet some new friends! The all brown dog I have in my photos is the Visla/Ridgeback that my grandparents rescued a couple of years ago from a shelter as a puppy. I lived with them from when COVID started until a couple months ago so that's my best friend! His name is Pluto and he is a giant sweetheart.

My first experience with Rover was with Jenna. While my dog is pretty mellow, she is a pit which makes a lot of people uneasy. Jenna has a great disposition and my dog was instantly comfortable around her. She was also great at being flexible which helped put me at ease when holiday travel bookings didn't go as expected and with other flight issues. Definitely will be checking in with her again in the future!

Safety, trust & environment

I keep a pretty tidy house so there is not much of a risk for swallowing/choking on anything. As a previous dog owner I know how quickly a bad situation can start so I am always aware of where the animal will be and prefer to not have them roaming the house without my supervision. If I am boarding your pet, I always make sure to ask thorough questions that will help me keep them and myself safe, especially with other dogs if your animal is reactive. As mentioned, I have walked some pretty big and strong dogs so I know how to properly handle them on a leash and be aware of a potential "...Squirrel?!" situation.

Information Jenna R. would like to know about your pet

To ensure the best care for your animal I would like to be aware of how reactive they are to other animals and people. Since I am on a nightshift schedule, I also want to make sure I can plan ahead if your pet has a specific feeding, potty break and sleeping schedule. Any other questions I have will be addressed before or during the initial introduction with your pet depending on factors like their age, background, etc. I also will not be able to board your dog if they are prone to excessive barking. My roommate works from home two days a week so it would be a problem for her if the dog is barking continuously at the noises that commonly occur around our apartment complex such as people outside the window (we are on the third floor, though, so there won't be people right outside the window), people walking up the stairs, or airplanes flying overhead. Of course barking is their form of protection and communication! However, we will get a notice from our management if we get any noise complaints of excessive noise, especially at night.

A typical day

I live in Kent so there are many options around for trail or neighborhood walks! I prefer to have toys that your dog is familiar with to encourage mental and physical exercise with their favorite items from home. I like to go on runs and long walks so I am more than willing to bring your pet along if they are able to!

I currently work nights at a hospital in Tacoma so my normal schedule is Tues-Fri, Wed-Sat from 10:30pm-7:00am. I have a flexible schedule when I know a few weeks in advance and can accommodate for any doggy scheduling needs! I like to exercise when I get off of work in the morning time and on my days off I usually lounge around or run errands so I would love to fill my extra time caring for your pup.
