Pet care experience
I work as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Vanderbilt University during the week. I very recently graduated with my PhD in neuroscience from Vanderbilt and everyone has been asking me "What do you want to do now that you *finally* finished your PhD?" and my answer has usually been "I want to baby-sit other people's dogs." I think most people took this as a joke, but I'm sort of being serious haha! I have owned dogs (Pugs and a German Shepherd), for 7 years. My pug Popeye recently passed away and my German Shepherd had to move to AZ with my parents because our apartment was too small, so I have been missing having a dog to hang out with. I would love to get another dog, but we would like to wait until we can afford a house. I have pet sat for a number of my friends and have found that it brings me immense joy. My husband (Matt) and I both love dogs and enjoy doing active things with them. I'm happy to snuggle with your dog and have lazy days and I'm also happy to do more active things if you have a more active pup. My husband and I would love to take care of your loved one and provide peace of mind while you are away! Jenna and Matt were incredible with the care and attention they gave to my dog! They took her for multiple daily walks, played with her constantly, and made me feel completely at peace while I was out of town. I loved the pictures and videos Jenna posted on her Rover Instagram. Although we don't have a proper private fenced in yard, we do have a fenced in area for dogs to run and play at my apartment. We will go for walks Downtown, play in our fenced in area, and go to the dog park (if permitted by owner).
