Outdoor gal for high energy dogs!
Pet care experience
I’m a dog person who recently lost her 10 year old dog to cancer. I’ve had dogs my entire life, and have been the primary caregiver for all of our dogs for 21 years. I am ready to give my dog-loving energy to your dog(s)! I recently adopted a 2 year old shih tzu mix so I will require that our dogs meet to ensure their comfort before accepting a boarding request. Most of my experience is personal: walking, feeding, bathing, and giving medication to my own dogs, but I have also dog/house sat for friends and neighbors when needed. I am able to give subcutaneous fluids and medications to dogs. I have experience with many breeds of dogs, from pitties to shepherds, pugs to collies, schnauzers to cattle dogs. I’m used to mischievous dogs who are too smart for their own good and get bored easily - I know how to keep them entertained! I especially love young dogs! I have no formal dog training, but my sweet 10-year old boy was trained beautifully (by me) to come, sit, stay, lay down, look away (avert his gaze while people around him were eating), downward dog, upward dog, shake, high five, run next to my bike on rides, and walk off-leash on hiking trails without distraction. I’m a gentle teacher and would be happy to work on any of those things with your dog :) If your dog loves hiking and cuddling, they’ll love my house!
Reviews
Jenna L. cancelled a booking 2 days before it was scheduled to begin.
Jenna was great with Pepper. Very kind and patient with Pepper as she warmed up to her presence.
Jenna was amazing!! Really cared for my dog and she took him on a hike, which I really appreciate! Will definitely trust her again :)
Jenna is a clearly a dog lover and did a great job taking care of our dog Talus, playing fetch with him for exercise and patiently assisting him with his quirky behavior around smooth floors. Thank you Jenna!

I have a large, fenced yard (a short fence, about 4 feet tall) and will be home at all times when your dog is with me. I do not have a crate in my home, but if you would like to provide one I have space. I also have a 5 year old who has grown up with dogs and knows to respect their boundaries. My house is mischievous-dog-friendly with locking trashcans and all food stored out-of-reach. All plants that are toxic to dogs are placed on higher shelves and surfaces, or can be moved to an off-limits room during your dog’s stay.

Information Jenna L. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your dog does not like children, has any special needs or medications, and your dog’s typical affect (anxious, independent, snuggly, etc.) and energy level. I love high energy dogs, I just need to prepare for them! If your dog has a favorite activity, please share that with me so I can make sure they are as comfortable and happy as can be. Please bring any food, toys, beds, collars (with tags), and kennels your pup might need. I can provide sanitized dog bowls for food and water.
A typical day
On Mondays and Fridays a typical day will involve lounging inside/outside at the dog’s leisure while I work, with a walk around Buffalo Park on my lunch and another walk around the neighborhood in the evening. On Saturdays and Sundays I try to spend as much of my time outside as possible, so it’s more likely that we’ll take a hike on the peaks, in the canyon, or around Elden.

Availability
I work from home on Mondays and Fridays, so I’ll be available all day to care for your pet. I don’t work on Saturdays and Sundays, and spend most of my time outside, so your pup will receive plenty of exercise on those days! I will not be available Tuesday-Thursday
