If I wasn’t a social worker I’d consider caring for dogs full time. Ive loved animals and taken care of animals since I was a kid on a small farm. One of my favorite childhood memories is of the 12 puppies of our family dog running toward me tripping all over each other. My part time job in graduate school was caring for a stable of 40+ horses. My own rescued pit mix who lived until 15 was my heart and I now have a 2 year old boxer Mix i raised from a pup who is a funny sweetheart. I know the importance of feeling like your dogs are safe and happy while you are away. I own a house walkable to university city with a large deck (kiddie pool!), yard and empty finished basement to run around in. My dog has run of of most of the house now that she has grown up but I also have a large crate if needed for sleeping arrangements. I have lots of days of vacation to use and am a homebody on weekends. I’d love to get to know your dogs’ unique personalities and make sure they are safe and happy while they wait for you to return. Money I earn on rover will go to my yard fence fund to give dogs even more outside freedom!
