New to Rover, not new to pet care!
Pet care experience
I've had my own dog for a little over 8 years, in addition to dog walking for neighbor's since middle school. For 3 years I volunteered with small animal care, then progressed to Dog R&R, then walking for about 4 more at the Animal Refuge League of G.P. Species and breeds ranged from rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters to staffy mix, hounds and small older dogs that needed a different pace. We also had a reactive Cairn terrier mix while I was growing up, so I learned early on how important establishing boundaries are for dogs/visitors! I also worked on a farm for 3 years, so I can handle a wide array of animals that would need care.
Reviews
Jen is amazing! We have been so appreciative of her help with our pup. We trust her completely. She is. A great communicator and so flexible.
Jen is amazing! We felt totally comfortable with her helping care for our new puppy. Feel so lucky to have found her!
Jen is such an awesome person! Very reliable, wonderful with pets, and she has worked with animals for several years now. I can’t think of anyone I would trust more with my furry babies!
Jen was great when she watched Penny while we were away Would highly recommend her for your future dog sitting She is truly a dog lover

If your (non-reactive) dog is looking for some easy company, I often bring my own dog to socialize when taking my neighbor's dogs out for their walks. She's happy to come along and meet yours! I currently do not have the set up for having an additional dog in my home. My main goal when caring for somebody's pet is to have it be a fun/positive experience for the animal, because that comforts the owners and makes future visits more enjoyable for everyone. It's also important to me that the owner feels their dog is safe, so if asked to take the dog somewhere I make sure other animals are on leashes. I'm not a fan of letting other people's dogs off leash, so that is not typically a part of the service I offer.
Information Jen S. would like to know about your pet
Important info about your dog ahead of time include: ~What their reactivity levels are with other dogs or animals that may be encountered in the neighborhood ~Feeding schedule and frequency and needs. (Also, allergies! I often use small training treats when working with new dogs!) ~How they will likely respond when I enter (after a successful meet & greet!) ~Bathroom needs- I know dogs that need every 4 hours, I know dogs that can go the whole workday just fine. Everyone has a different setting!
A typical day
I'm happy to be company for a mid day break! Getting a nice brushing outside can be a good stress relief for a long day inside. I keep my walks within the dog's neighborhood/common areas, that way they feel comfortable walking since they already know the area. For longer watches I'd be willing to drive to local spots too.
