I am a very conscientious and responsible caregiver. When you have your own dog and you have volunteered with a rescue that has seen scared/ hurt/ dumped dogs, I do think that gives you a different perspective on dog behavior and dog safety. I am extremely careful with leashes, dog interactions, crating, etc. I have taken classes on dog obedience and dog behavior. In clients' homes, I will abide by all preferences regarding leashes, yards, etc. In my home, I require dogs to be on-leash at any point outside my front door (I live in a building and do not have a yard). I am happy to take dogs to the dog park (I live across the street from one) if told by the client that they would like that and their dog does well there. To note, if I stay in your home, I will be accompanied by my partner Paula and our dog Wally. We work as a team, each able to give the dogs individual attention and a dedicated walker for our pack walks. Wally is great with other dogs in that he generally tends to care very little about them. As long as his people are around, he could care less who else is in the room!
