Pet care experience
Hi my name is Jen and I am a veterinary technician. I have been for over 2 years and love my job! I live in Arlington heights and work in wilmette. Animals have been a part of my life since I was a child and I feel very confident providing for them as I have experience and knowledge of working with animals. I am knowledgable and experienced in administering medications to animals as it is something I do daily at work. I love pet sitting because I enjoy helping people and spending time with animals is my favorite hobby! *please no requests from Chicago Northwest suburbs. Work in wilmette and live in Arlington heights. Surrounding suburbs no chi please.

Jen was a great help in a number of ways. First, she accepted a holiday-weekend stay at our home with less than a week's notice when our original sitter fell through. She sent pictures each day, and the smiles on our dogs' faces said everything about their level of comfort with her. Her career as a vet tech came in handy, too, when she noticed that one of our dogs was displaying symptoms of a UTI. She alerted us right away, and even collected a urine sample for us to take to our vet! Jen really went above and beyond for our pets AND for our peace of mind.
Great first experience. Came early on first day and checked in to make sure we got home safely and the dogs were ok. Will definitely be contacting Jen again!

As I have previously mentioned, I have experience working with animals who have health issues and who require medication. I am also skilled in working with geriatric animals as well. I also would enjoy working with animals who require lots of physical activity! I am confident in working with many different kinds of pets. I have a 3 year old deaf cavalier named rocky at home. I love him very much!
A typical day
I believe it is important to have a good overall idea of each pets personality so you can better accommodate them. I also like to know how each pet is with other animals so I know how to prepare them and myself if they meet another dog while we are on a walk or something. I really enjoy spending as much time with the pets as possible. I enjoy sleeping with them next to me, taking them on long walks, and spending all my free time outside of work with them. It really strengthens the bonds between me and another pet if I can devote myself to them and make sure they are comfortable and happy while their owners are out of town.
