Pet care experience
My boarding rate is higher than the average because no matter what your dog is doing, between my partner and I, your dog will never be left alone. I am a writer and work from home. I have the flexibility with my time that you do not. So, if you need to change the drop-off or pick up times, no problem. Running late to catch that plane? You can call me that morning and I will drive to you to pick up your dog. When you need to focus on your task at hand; be it work, vacation, medical problems, or you want to take a day off from your life, my job is to host your dog with the greatest care, and do everything I can to accommodate your schedule. While I do accept last minute requests from new clients, if there isn’t time for the Meet and Greet beforehand, I may increase the fee for the booking. Special needs dogs are wonderful guests. But the one thing I require is that your furry friend is okay being around other dogs.
Reviews
Jeff was very responsive and took good care of our pup.
Jeff is wonderful, caring and trustworthy pet sitter. My dog, Beau, has difficulty adjusting to new surrounding and we were anxious about finding the right sitter. Jeff did everything and then some, to make sure that Beau felt comfortable, safe, and loved. It's very comforting to know that we have found someone who truly cares about our dog. Thanks, Jeff!
Jeff was incredibly attentive to our dogs needs and our requests! This was our first time using rover and we were a little nervous, but after finding Jeff and doing a meet and greet with him, our fears were quickly diminished. Jeff updated us many times and sent plenty of photos. He also checked in with us before offering our pup an extra treat. We are incredibly happy with our choice to go with Jeff and will recommend him any day!
Layla looks forward to coming to stay with you and your dog Hunter. She enjoyed playing with you and your friend during the holidays! She loved her perch up high and watching all the action!

Information Jeff N. would like to know about your pet
I'd like to know about their personality. Do they need humor, patience, tenderness? What are their dislikes or fears? If they eat furniture, what type do they prefer? And what about YOU? Is this a vacation and you would love several photos and updates every day? Or would you rather get a photo and a short text each morning and evening to tell you that all is well? We will, of course, discuss your dog's needs before their stay: Treats, yes or no? For these questions, if we haven't already discussed it, I will text you.
A typical day
Does Fido do well in the car? If so, walks happen at the beach, on hiking trails in the hills above the city, or at a gorgeous off-leash park. An hour off-leash (or more) does wonders to calm and sooth a dog. If the car ride is not your dog's idea of a good time, then we walk around this beautiful neighborhood. And we walk a lot, if your dog loves the exercise.

The first hours of their visit I will let our guest wander around the large apartment, explore and sniff at their own pace, and then let them settle in. I will be in the same room, pretending to mind my own business, and watching closely. Most dogs quickly feel secure. If I don't make a fuss, your dog doesn't either. Some dogs are anxious about being in a new place. In that case I will sit with them and comfort them. And some dogs are frustrated because they are your caretaker. They watched you packing for your trip. They know that you're stressed and they want to do their job and help you. But instead of being with you, here they are in my house as my guest. These "difficult" dogs are understandibly upset. I have had more than one man-to-dog conversation about this. I explain that the best way that they can help you, their beloved human, is to try to relax and enjoy themselves. "Then, I can take photos of you having a nice time and send them to your owner. That's the best thing you can do for your owner right now". If that's difficult for them, then we distract them with play and more play and treats and every dog can jump onto the couch and sleep on the bed if they wish to. I find a way to connect with your dog during those first hours here and most every dog settles in. As for the daily routine, your dog will be part of the family and join us for every activity. Unless they are sleepers, in that case, my partner will be home to nap with your dog while I take my dogs to the park.
