Safe, Positive & Professional Care!

Pet care experience

SAFETY FIRST: We understand there are increased challenges with Covid19, and we believe in safety first both with the difficulties presented with this pandemic, as well as with the care and handling of your pets. We take all necessary safety precautions with how we work with your pets, both inside and outside your home. TEAM: We (Jeff and Catherine) work both together as a team as well as independently to ensure your pet care needs are covered. Sometimes a team is more effective in certain situations, such as working with a large number of dogs, with reactive dogs or with pets with significant medical needs. On busier days, we have the flexibility to work independently as well. BACKGROUND: We worked in animal welfare for a combined total of almost 20 years, including dogs, cats, birds and small animals. We have also worked with other animals such as horses, cows, goats, chickens and donkeys. We have worked with every breed, size, age, behavior and temperament, including directly with animal care, handling, training, medical issues, behavior, socialization, coat care and photography. We have worked with difficult and reactive dogs safely with a number of issues, including separation anxiety, barrier aggression, resource guarding and reactivity on walks. We have a very clear belief in the philosophy of positive training, and we work hard on understanding and working with animals from their point of view. MEDICAL: We are both Pet First Aid and CPR certified and have worked with many types of pet medical care such as giving shots, fluids, eye drops, ear treatments, oral and topical medications, treating wounds and hotspots, palliative care and senior care. TRAINING: We are not professional trainers, but we both have many years of positive training practice, philosophy and classes. We have worked with shelter pets as well as many pet parents - helping parents with their own pets to either identify/find the training they need or implement an already established training routine. COMMUNICATION: We communicate with you on your terms and we know every pet parent is different. One photo and one text update? We can do that. 20 photos and several updates throughout the day? We can do that too. Do you prefer a phone call? Absolutely. No messages outside the Rover Card? It’s completely up to you. TRANSPARENCY: We believe in 100% transparency and complete honesty with you and with caring for your pet. We want you to be able to trust us with caring for your furry family members and know they are in good hands. And when things are awesome? We’ll tell you. If things go wrong? We will tell you that too, and suggestion solutions for fixing the problem. We believe in making sure we are the right fit for you and your pet. We will not take on a new client unless we are sure we can do the best job possible. SCHEDULE AND AVAILABILITY: We are able to accept a few new drop-in and dog walking clients into our schedule as several of our pet parents recently moved out of state. This is the first time we have started accepting new pet parent clients since 2016, as we have operated with current clients and solely via word of mouth since then. We currently have a few open time slots for walks and drop-ins in the mornings and afternoons on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. We have openings after 1 pm on Wednesdays, and we have several openings throughout the day on weekends. REFERENCES: If you have specific questions about our skills and capabilities, please let us know. We have many past and present clients who are happy to talk with you if you have general or specific questions about care.

Information Jeff & Cathy K. would like to know about your pet

We honestly would like to know as much as you are willing to tell us about your pets. The more information we have, the better we can do our jobs. What is the best part about having your pet? What is the most challenging? What is the one thing that always makes you smile about your furry family member? What is the one thing you wish you could improve? We are here to listen and we are here to help. Many of our pet parents and their furry family members become our extended family, and we even receive regular photos and updates from our out-of-state clients. We go the extra mile for our clients. We have walked 150 lb. Malamutes at 11 pm to keep them out of the heat of the day. We have successfully worked on significantly reactive dogs to the point where they can be walked daily with little to no issues. We have taken dogs on day trips and hikes. We treat your furry family members as if they were our own dogs. Our goal is to make your pet sitting, walking or drop-in visits the best they can be. We want you to be 100% happy with the services we provide to you and your pets. We will work hard to make sure to meet or exceed your expectations for the level of care they receive. We welcome your feedback before, during and after walks, stays and visits. We can't wait to meet your pets! Notable Mentions: We become very in tune with the pets we care for, and have often noticed changes in behavior, appetite, mobility, etc. that we have brought to our pet parents’ attentions. In some cases suggesting something simple like glucosamine/chondroitin has given our furry friends a whole new pep to their step. Other times suggesting trips to the vet have identified significant changes in bloodwork and caught progressing medical issues. We want your pets to be happy and healthy – just like you do!
