Wardo’s Little Dog Lounge
Pet care experience
Good on you, friend! You want more than a cold cage for your pup. And you want a family to treat your pup with genuine care and affection when you cannot take her or him with you. So, thank you for your interest in our dog boarding services. Although we recently relocated to Hagerstown from North Bethesda, we offer free shuttle service for our clients along the I-270 corridor--Bethesda, North Bethesda, Rockville, Gaithersburg, Germantown, Urbana, and Frederick. Our clients are very welcomed to pick-up and drop-off at our new home if their plans take them through Hagerstown. We're excited to be in our second year with Rover! During our first year, we developed wonderful and continuing relationships with many of our repeat guests and their parents. Find out for yourself why our clients trust us with their precious furry ones and refer to the Lounge as their dogs' "vacation home"...their dogs' "home away from home"...their dogs’ "second home/family". Many of our guests seem to develop friendships among themselves as they often encounter one another at the Lounge. We also understand that a few of our guests' parents have become familiar with one another and occasionally meet at dog parks for playdates. You are welcomed to apply promo code WARDOL86713 to save $20 if you are new to Rover. If our calendar shows we are unavailable, please don’t hesitate to message us just to be sure…we may be able to squeeze you in🐾🐾
Reviews
Jeannie and Robert were absolutely amazing! I was pretty nervous about leaving my little guy. I haven't been in the area long and didn't want to upset Petrie with a new change. They were really great with sending updates about him. I visited Canada for the solar eclipse, and the ETA changed multiple times. The responses I received were so nice! I would definitely recommend my family and friends to have Jeannie and Robert help with their dogs. Thank you so much for being awesome!
Gigi and Rob took good care of our fur baby - Jasper. They maintain constant communication and sent several pictures and videos to keep me updated throughout his stay. Thank you for taking care of Jasper.
Macy was well loved and cared for. Will book again soon.
I cannot say enough great things about Jeannie & Robert - they have watched my pug many times now over the past year, as i frequently travel for work; this most recent time I was so sad that I had to travel and miss my pug's 2nd birthday, so they THREW HER A BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!! The cutest pics and videos beyond my imagination. My pug cries with excitement when she sees Gigi (i think she may love her more than me haha) I am so grateful for having found such amazing caretakers to watch after my precious lil wrinkly girl

Information Jeannie & Robert W. would like to know about your pet
Our late Chihuahua was diabetic and required a special diet and insulin injections twice a day for nearly two years. We are very comfortable with administering medications, including injectables, oral pills, and topicals. Please let us know if your dog requires medication or has any special requirements. ***CAGED ANIMALS PRESENT*** Please understand that we have a pair of caged Guinea Pigs, both males, who are quite accustomed to curious canines sticking their noses around the cage. This has been very manageable for us; no worries, mate. ***HIGH SOCIALIZING POTENTIAL*** Although we specialize in small dogs and intend to give your dog our undivided attention, your dog may encounter other dogs (typically the small varieties) in and around our home, and naturally, larger dogs may be present at dog parks. Please let us know if your dog does not do well with other dogs and we will take the necessary precautions. ***GROOMING REQUIREMENTS*** Please bathe your dog before the stay...maybe a day or two ahead. At our discretion upon your dog's arrival, at any time during any length of stay less less than a week if necessary, but certainly every seven to ten days during stays longer than a week or more, we reserve the right to bathe your dog and assess a modest grooming fee. Please understand that this requirement is necessary to maintain the cleanliness of our home and for our well-being and the well-being of other dogs in our care. We intend to personally communicate this to you at the time of your booking request. Your cooperation in this regard is sincerely appreciated.
A typical day
Although we appreciate a senior dog who enjoys a quiet, lazy day spent lounging and napping, we are a mildly active family and can regularly get a more youthful dog out for a little play and some exercise, fresh air, and smells around our community***. In the process, we will work on a few training/obedience behaviors in a warm and caring way. When the weather is nice, we'll enjoy some time at local dog parks. After the stay, you may receive a Rover Reel that commemorates your pup's stay at the Lounge! ***MANAGING EXPECTATIONS*** We really do want to get outside with your dog as much as possible--good for your dog and good for us. To that end, we promise "potty breaks"...along various routes at various times for maybe 15 to 60 minutes. We really prefer potty breaks that resemble bon-a-fide "walks" whenever possible, as they most often do...weather permitting. ***AIRTAG TRACKING*** For your added peace of mind, we provide a well-fitted dog collar equipped with an AirTag--or one that attaches to your dog's collar. This will allow us to track and recover a clever guest who might escape our control. We take this precaution just in case.

Availability
Our flexible schedules allow us to be home when your pet is trusted to our care. Plus, our teenager has a very light after school/summer activities and sports schedule. Together, we are committed to care for our guests just as if they were members of our own family. This includes taking your pooch with us when we need to be away from our home, if that is acceptable to you.
