I need my dog fix! 🐕

Pet care experience

I am pleased that you are considering me for your pet’s care needs! If you’re looking for someone fast I can typically help out with that – feel free to skip to “Information Jeaninne R. would like to know about your pet/Requested information about your pet” to make sure we are a good fit with each other before booking. I am an experienced enthusiastic feline enthusiast (crazy cat lady? If the shoe fits…) who does not mind dogs in the slightest and has experience handling complex medical conditions. I raised my dad's hunting dogs during childhood, I've nursed a dog and now a cat back to health, and I have experience dealing with feral kittens and behavioral issues due to abuse, starvation, neglect, mistreatment, or prior cruelty. (Volunteered and saw a lot of abuse and dogfighting situations. Most often worked with dogs who were skittish/snappy and feral kittens) I can work with your animal and can adhere to any program or ongoing behavioral training. I want a dog of my own eventually, but right now I'm content with using your dog as exposure for my cats and loving on it a bunch before you get them back. It's a great arrangement for us all!

Jeaninne did a fantastic job watching over my little girl! She was very attentive to my dogs age and her anxiousness and fragility. My dog was so comfortable at her home that it took her a while to notice I had even walked in to pick her up. My dog recognizes Jeannines home as a safe space for her and it makes me glad to say that we will be rebooking in the future. Highly recommend! Also a plus with all the pictures and updates!

Jeaninne watched my large dog who has terrible separation anxity and my small dog. Took great care of them. Even managed to get my small to not have any potty accidents (he is hard headed). They had a great time. She also was able to give medication to my dog so that helped me pick her to watch my fur kids. Very caring and fun. Would recommend to others.

She will spoil your pets and love them all the time. She is amazing with animals and don't matter the level of attention they need

Safety, trust & environment

I’m a pretty laid-back gamer-type living in a 1-bedroom flat here on the southside of the city with a fenced in yard shared with 1 other unit. I am very communicative and I will send you proof of life photos and videos, especially if your animal makes friends with any of mine. Speaking of, I own a squad of cats currently that I refer to as the Oreo gang. Please refer to their pet profiles if you have time. I typically only take 1 overnight client at a time as there are other animals in the home. This can be flexible if there is the right mix of personalities or for bonded pairs, but I largely prefer 1-2 dogs at a time.

Information Jeaninne R. would like to know about your pet

1. Dog friendliness with cats; ideally, the fur client will need to be downright indifferent to cats or friendly towards them - at minimum having previous cat exposure history of not chasing them is preferred. I typically do meet and greets in my home to test this beforehand for new clients who have had 0 cat exposure. 2. Feeding schedule and amount. You will need to supply your own food for safety reasons. (The Oreo gang eats their food from an automatic feeder - your dog is safe from kitty food!) 3. Potty schedule. Does your dog let you know it needs o-u-t? 4. Health concerns, allergies, wound care, any similar issues. 5. Behavioral issues/prior issues. 6. Any quirks, special behaviors, anxieties, pickiness, anything you can think of that might be important. 7. I do have hardwood floors this time around, so it would be wise to bring your dog's bed if you have one, just so they have that additional space to lay down as sometimes the Oreo demands attention. 8. Energy Level. 9. No breed preferences, however untrained dogs will not be welcomed back.

A typical day

A typical day in the life of Jeaninne starts around 7/8 with a fresh cup of coffee and if I am with a dog, letting that dog out for it’s morning routine. If it is not ugly weather I tend to walk in the back with the animal with my coffee and enjoy the morning moments. If I am leaving for work if your dog is not crate trained or is a large-breed, I will gate them in my bedroom. Unless specified I will leave my favorite show Law and Order SVU on for them while I am gone. (I tried national geographic and almost lost a TV). I come home straightaway when caring for a dog, and I live close by so getting home is quick and easy. If I'm staying home my hobbies are mostly indoors ones, giving me plenty of time to spend with the fur child and give all the attention to them too. If for whatever reason something came up, I do have another trusted adult who could access the property to come provide relief, however this has yet to have been needed and I hope I never do, but as you probably know, life does happen sometimes. Your animal IS allowed on my couch and in my bed with me, provided it’s not a situation like we have with Colby where he will sneak out of bed and make messes so we have to crate him at night. Your cat is also similarly safe, though in my experience usually bookings with cats are so short there isn’t enough time for the cat to completely trust me to want to sleep with me or snuggle. It’s all good, I respect your kitty's boundaries too.

I work full time in the legal field. I look forward to coming home to my pets each and every day; they’re always so happy to see me and it brings joy to my life. I usually crate our family dog while at work when he's in my care, other dogs I've sat I gate them into one room. Typically my work hours are: M-Th 10-6; F 10-5.
